In order to age-up your student character in preparation for the subsequent school year (or graduation), there are just a few small requirements that need to be met. Traditionally this was done by a post-count threshold (i.e. needed 50 posts during the school year to advance from First Year to Second Year, etc.), but this has since been discarded in favor of more realistic requirements. From there, the options have been expanded to include events outside of the initial classroom-only requirement. Age-up requirements serve as a means to help connect student characters as well as connect drivers within the MH community, using both IC and OOC events.
All schools require a sheet update, which should cover brief events of the previous term. The post requirement, however, may vary and is at the discretion of the respective School Admin.
As the current term winds down (either end of June or beginning of July playtime), a "call for updates" will be posted by the Administration, at which time drivers may
begin to submit sheet updates - please do not submit updates before this announcement is posted. At that time, a hard deadline will be announced for sheet update submission and completed post requirements, which is generally at least two [2] weeks before the start of September playtime. School Admins may also tag or PM characters that have not yet met the age-up requirement at the time the first announcement is posted as a courtesy reminder.
To count towards the current age-up cycle (2002-2003 school year), the
first eligible post must have been made on or after
11 February 2019 (first day of September 2002 playtime). Summer school events count towards the preceding school year, not for the upcoming one.
Characters that are Sorted at the end of the current school term or drivers with extenuating circumstances may or may not have the age-up requirements waived, again at the discretion of the respective School Admin. Please see below for the specific age-up requirements for each of the played schools.
If you have questions, please contact the appropriate School Admin:
As a note - while we are always open to feedback and to working with members who have extenuating circumstances, please be respectful and do not harass a School Admin about their specific age-up requirement. Thank you!
