Birthday is September 1st, year help & clarification. [Solved]

Okay so Waldo's birthday is set to be September 1st and as we all know, that's the day on which the start of term lands at Hogwarts.
Correct me if I'm wrong but canon seems to suggest that a wizard/witch gets their letter on the year in which they are TURNING 11.
So Waldo would turn 11 on his first day at Hogwarts correct?

Yup, he'd be the eldest in the school year. It just happened that Harry got his letter in his 11th birthday because he was one of the youngest in the year :)
