She beamed up at the door to Maddox Stanton's flat. Finally their schedules alined once again. Well, they aligned last week, but the young woman was impatient. There wasn't anything wrong with that either in her opinion. It's been however many months - 8 - to be more exact, they've been together. Or dating. Or together. Whatever. All she knew is that he was hers. She felt possessive with that thought, but also rather happy about it too. The witch felt bad for warming up to him so slowly in the first few months. She was so silly. But now here she was, eager to say hi.

Alice bounced impatiently frowning at the door, she already knocked a minute ago. Seemed like a minute ago. Maybe she should knock again. Or maybe she shouldn't. Maybe he was coming to the door. Maybe he was busy. Come on, come on, open the door Max! He said in his letter he wasn't busy. She huffed ceasing her movements to stand still, although that only lasted for a few seconds. She could hear footsteps.

The door opened and on cue, Alice jumped to wrap her arms and legs around him. Like a little koala, she'd done this far too many times before to know he wouldn't drop her. It also made it easier for her short self to see him. "Hello! Hello! Hello!" she smiled, repeating herself in a sing song voice, giving him a little peck, "how are you today?" Of course her chirpy mood had a purpose, she wanted to see him smile. It was a goal, and she hoped she succeeded today. She wanted to count, as goofy as it sounded. The healer in training gave him a wide grin, poking the top of his nose with her finger. "I got my scores," she dramatically paused for an effect, "I passed my classes!" Another year down, another to go before her internship years.

"I'm super excited..." she trailed off, her attention went in an entirely different direction. Almost like shiny object syndrome, she was drawn to something on his cheek. "How did you get that?" she blinked at the little injury she missed completely. "Does it hurt? When did you get it? What did you do? You should get that taken care of," she fussed clinging to him.

Finding time to see each other between both of their busy careers was much harder than Maddox Stanton would have liked. But, he was thankful that today, they were both able to find the time. He’d known that Alice had to go up against some fairly nasty exams, and was anxious to hear how they had gone, even though he had been sure that she would pass them with flying colors. Living so close to the Ministry and St.Mungo’s did have it’s perks, like being able to owl each other on short notice and figure out when the best times to try and meet would be. Some days it didn’t work, and some days, it did, like today, and of course those were his favorite days. Alice was always so perky, and just bright and happy, and often was good at bringing out the softer side in him, so it was a no brainer for the man to enjoy spending time with his girlfriend, of a whole eight months, which he could hardly believe, but it made him happy none the less. He knew she was probably already at the door to his flat, doing her best to wait patiently, and failing a bit. The thought of that alone made the man smile as he made his way to the door.

As he opened it, he knew enough by now to brace himself, and he’d been right, as soon as he had the door open enough for her to see all of him, she had launched herself at him and was wrapped around him. Making sure not to drop her, the ex Slytherin grinned and returned her affections, Merlin it was good to see her. Laughing softly Max responded to her question “I’m doing just fine today, how are you? That’s the more important question, of course” He was sure that most of her antics were for his benefit, trying to make him laugh or smile, and he had to admit they got him almost every time, not that he minded too much. Especially when he got to see her so excited and happy, and know that he was part of that reason, as sappy as it was. As the witch poked his nose, Max playfully raised his eyebrows, he wondered if this was the moment where she finally told him how her exams had gone, he hoped so, he was curious! Ah, it was, and she knew how to make him anxious, that was for sure. He found her enthusiasm infectious as he felt himself grinning again, and let out a little whoop of celebration “You did, huh? That’s fantastic. I knew you would, without a doubt. I’m so proud of you, Alice” He wasn’t lying, he really was proud of her, it wasn’t an easy task to get where she was or where she was going, and he knew his sister was in the same boat.

He could tell the witch clinging to him really was as excited as she said she was, and he wouldn’t have had it any other way. But just as he was about to suggest they do something fancy to celebrate, she seemed to get distracted by something, on his cheek? What could that be? And then it hit him, she had seen the little bruise he’d managed to get by accidentally forgetting to watch where he had been going during rush hour at the Ministry. He’d managed to get himself attacked by the numerous flying paper planes that were supposed to simply been delivering the memos, but had gone rogue instead. It was a ridiculous story, and he wasn’t sure she’d believe him if he told her. So he did his best to explain “Oh that little scratch? I doubt you’d believe me if I told you, it’s an incredibly ridiculous story. But to start, I got it at work. I was attacked by a flock of memos, believe it or not, sometime yesterday around lunch, but no it doesn’t hurt. I figured It’d take care of itself..” He trailed off, curious to see her reaction to his tale, wondering if she’d think he was lying or not. He was touched though, by the fact that Alice had been so concerned, regardless of how silly the incident had been.
