Despite the fact that her day had started much earlier than she liked, Crux had been radiating happiness since the moment she woke up. Knowing that all of her planning had finally come together, and that her roommates would be moving in had put the young woman on cloud nine, and felt as though nothing could bring her down. Typically when she was left in charge, things tended to fall apart. She could almost always be counted on to overlook something vitally important, causing all hard work to come crashing down into a giant mess. She hadn't really questioned anyone as to why they were seeking new living arrangements, but this was exactly what she had hoped to accomplish. She, along with Murphy, had successfully brought together five people and made all arrangements. While it may not have seemed significant to someone else, Crux was proud of herself for following through on doing what she said she would do.
She hadn't been surprised when Bodhi was already awake when she arrived to the house earlier that morning with the last of her things. The joys of being the connection to the landlord was that she had the luxury of slowly bringing her things over the last couple of weeks at her own convenience. This worked out much better than her having to get everything together at once. Her parents had taken her out for a cup of coffee early that morning to celebrate her last morning at their home. She knew she always had a room back in Dahliental, but Hossegor was her new adventure. She was moving out at a younger age than both of her older siblings, so of course they were worried for her, but they had stopped trying to reign in their daughter's will years ago. She actually felt that had more respect for their wishes since decisions were left to her.
Crux surprised her new roommate with a freshly rolled joint to commemorate their big day. The lighter haired man had already gone out surfing, something she had already decided he was going to teach her to do. The high was just enough to lift them up, though she still felt as though she had a lot to do, so she stopped at one. They could do some real celebrating later that night with everyone else. Hell, they could celebrate every night! Everyone moving in had responsibilities elsewhere, but this house was going to be a break from that. Years from now when these days were nothing but a memory, she wanted them all to look back and remember this as them having the time of their lives every single night.
Breakfast for the new arrivals? What a perfect idea! That also reminded her that at some point they would need to buy some groceries. Was that something they should do as a group, or individually? She refused to contribute money to anybody who thought bringing Munster cheese into the house was a good idea. She allowed herself to dwell on this for a few brief moments before dismissing the problem; she had a brief epiphany that there were many facets of living on her own and with other people that she hadn't considered, but she wasn't going to let that ruin her good mood. She left Bodhi to the pancakes while she made a quick trip to One Sip Wonders. Her boss was always pretty lenient about them dipping into the inventory as long as they didn't get excessive, and she was sure some fresh fruit would be the perfect addition to their first meal.
She got distracted by a seagull along the coastline, and invested more time in the bird than she had realized. She never had any sort of timepiece to tell her what time it was, but when she returned to an open door at the house, she realized that someone must have already arrived. She removed the canvas bag of fruits from her shoulder, and carried it so that she could race up the deck and into the house, ready to finally see everyone.
When she saw Parthenia and Genevieve, Crux completely forgot about the bag as it fell to the floor, sending a single apple rolling across the kitchen floor. A squeal signaled her entrance as she bounced across the room, arms flying over both of the girls messily, bringing them into a sort-of hug. "I'm so excited you guys are here!"
Not only had she failed to pay attention to the blizzard of flour Bodhi had managed, she didn't even bat an eyelash at the fact that he had traded his wetsuit for a little less clothing. Apparently Genevieve had, and Crux chose not to acknowledge it. While she realized this may have been a bit awkward, they were going to be living together, and more skin than that was probably going to be revealed over time.
"Did everybody meet already? Bodhi, this is Geneviève and Parthenia, we went to Beauxbatons together! Gen and Nia, this is Bodhi, we met on the beach." Her eyes darted back and forth between the three, not sure what she expected, before retrieving her fruit. She rummaged to the bottom and found her wand, and with a couple of waves sent the various melons and citrus floating to the sink, washing under the water. "We've got breakfast almost done, I think, right Bodhi?"
