[Gringotts] Screaming color. (Maia)

How unprofessional could Nikolai Volkov get today? He was wearing gray slacks with a black shirt on and a light gray and red sweater that was burnt slightly on the arm. He was feeding the dragons down in the crypts. They guarded the most secret and special vaults. Most of them were nocturnal or blind, but he was trying to work with them more. He felt that they were treated unfairly. Nik was more disgusted with the fact they were scared of most wizards that went down there. Dragons were gentle creatures if they were just treated fairly. It was time for his lunch though. He did not care if he smelled like dragon dung or even smelled like soot from the fire that the dragon attempted to burn him with out of fear- he was hungry.

He walked through the office with a slight limp. Even after almost three years of therapy there was still a slight limp to his prosthetic leg. If he did not wear a shoe on it the metal always made a clunk sound. It actually was enchanted to help him walk normally, the perks of having a mother who was amazing at artifact magic. Running his hand through his hair he had one person in his mind to go to lunch with, Maia.

Maia was a girl that worked at Gringotts with him. They did not work in the same place, but usually spoke off and on. Half the time Nik could not keep his eyes off the woman. She just was enchanting. They went out to lunch a couple times. She was great company to have, plus she was gorgeous. She was probably the prettiest girl in Gringotts. The woman hopefully did not find him super repulsive either. As he spotted her, he went up behind her putting his hands over his eyes. He did not have soot on them thankfully. If he had that he would've been embarrassed. "Guess who?" He smirked gently, hoping she would actually attempt to guess.

Maia drooped as she sat at her desk, eyes half-lidded and her head tilting over as she tried not to fall asleep. It was early enough that she still could take a nap at her desk, and her goblin bosses wouldn’t have minded, but right now there was yelling happening in her office. While it was amusing as all hell, Maia just either wanted to crawl in a ball or sip on the coffee that was brewed on the other side of the shared office. Every time she made to get up however, it was like the person who was getting berated for being a huge jackass seemed to look at her like she was going to save them. She wasn’t that friendly, especially when it was the fault of the idiot who decided to rip a whole ward scheme down without examining it first.

Yawning softly, she finally just leaned her head back and stared at the ceiling. Maia knew exactly why she was so tired, and her body felt like shit. This job had her spending all her time underground when all she wanted to do is float in the ocean, rejuvenating herself. While her goblin bosses were usually sympathetic, as she was one of the only half-creatures that worked in their halls, right now she was the keystone of a big project. She couldn’t go too far without them being able to contact her, and it was driving her nuts. She blinked rapidly and gave up, walking over to the coffee and pouring her a big cup of black coffee with enough sugar to satisfy 8 people.

When she was finally in her seat relaxing, her big eyes blinked slowly as she focused on the amusement in front of her. Her lips quirked in a half smirk that was hidden by the big cup that she drank from. It was almost lunch time soon, and once Sharpblade left, they’d all be able to disperse and get some food. It took another fifteen minutes and a second cup of coffee, but Sharpblade was gone, and Maia felt somewhat wake. She grabbed her big adventure bag and was about to make her way to the floo room when she felt warm hands covering her face.

Blinking rapidly, she relaxed when she heard the semi familiar voice behind her. She couldn’t quite grasp who it was, and at least it was somewhere safe to her. She giggled softly, before inhaling deeply. “Brimstone, soot and cologne…Were you down romancing the dragons, Nikolai?” She turned towards the taller man, her eyes becoming flecked with a tad bit of blue. “‘allo.” She chirped, staring up at him. He was taller when she was up close. “…Did you bring me a mini dragon like you promised?”

"How did you know? Let me guess--" He paused for a moment, then continued. "I smell." He was so used to the smell that it just seemed normal to him. Many people found his soot smell over whelming. He adored the smell of it. It reminded him of a campfire and just enjoying his time just with the dragons in peace. She stared up at him which caused him a smile, but then she asked about a mini dragon....

"Do you know hard it is to sneak one of those in my coat?" He raised an eyebrow at her. He took his rough hands and moved her hair behind her ear and when he brought his hand back there was a small dragon figure that was made out of a turquoise. It was a small model dragon that was laying on his back looking extremely playful. When he saw it in a store he instantly thought of her. The dragon was enchanted by his mother to pop up from its playful mood and chase its tail for a second then continue laying as if it wanted someone to pet its belly. "I did manage to get you this." He was hoping she could keep it on her desk and think of him whenever she was dealing with that horrible goblin guy that barked orders at her.

Normally Nik would just ignore the goblins around him. Half the time they wanted him to use that darn bell thing on the dragons which just scared them. There was other ways to treat the dragons. If you had respect for them you have nothing to worry. They were gentle unless provoked. Many of these dragons haven't even spent time outside, which was sad. He really wanted to work on dragon right a little more here, but it was going to take a little more time. He was still trying to get the hang of trying to introduce them to other things rather than fear.

"So, Sharpblade left- want to get some lunch together?" He looked around to see if there was anybody else waiting to ask her. She was gorgeous. He was just hoping he was the first to ask her. He put his eyes back down at the girl.
