The familiar feeling of bass hitting somewhere deep in his chest  was a welcome treat as Watson Wolfram eyed the blonde cocktail waiting pouring drinks on the exclusive table he and colleagues found themselves at. His ribcage thudded in harmony with her movement, and he flashed a quick, thankful smile in her direction. For the raven haired main dressed in all black, this was just another Friday night, but nonetheless, he was still fired up from the excitement in the crowded club. It was prime time now, the general dancing area packed with witches and wizards who had just gotten their share of booze in, ready to make some mistakes.

Intense brown eyes scanned the crowd from behind his glass, unaware of the brunette woman next to him who had been vying for his attention for the past five minutes. Something about have a table at a club, with unlimited drinks, had all the winners coming their way. Instead, his gaze reached a familiar face, and he instantly leaned forward to get a better look. In the middle of a group of dancing witches, of to the side by the by, was Brooklyn Matthews. Watson didn't even hesitate to get up and leave the guarded area they were sanctioned off in.

Watson swiftly made his way through the crowd with easy, his drink still in hand, with purpose toward Brooklyn. He hadn't seen the woman since Hogwarts, when her family had blacklisted him for getting her old brother in trouble, and she had certainly grown up. Watson dwelled on this as his eyes lingered on her being, taking a step closer to her back, his hand instinctively touching her side as he got close to speak into her ear.

"The library staff let you out early, Miss Matthews?" Watson clicked his tongue, waiting for her to turn around. "Your parents would be so proud," He emphasized sarcastically, the scent of her hair cleaning potions almost intoxicating him.

What am I doing here? thought Brooklyn, as she brought the glass of water up to her lips and pretended to enjoy the atmosphere of the club. It was an excellently valid question; what was she doing there? Clubs and bars weren't her style. No, she much preferred the company of her kneazle, her fireplace, and a good book any day. But yet, here she was, trying so hard to enjoy herself, if only to appease her friends who felt it was high time she get back out into the world of socializing. She rolled her eyes at the thought and took another sip of water.

She was immediately pulled from her glass as her friend grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor. Knowing full well that Brook didn't dance, she protested with her friend and wrapped her free arm around her waist in a protective manner. However, her friend was insistent and soon she found herself in the middle of her friends as they swayed and rocked to the beat. Brook couldn't help but look around instinctively, as if looking for a quick get away. As the evening progressed, she felt herself become more uncomfortable and her introverted side scream for help.

Her friend tugged at her hand, urging her to dance a little, and Brook shrugged as she attempted to dance. This lasted for a few minutes as she almost convinced herself that she was having fun. However, her attention was distracted when she felt a hand on her side. Resisting the urge to face the perpetrator and give them a piece of her mind, she stood rigid but soon relaxed when she recognized the voice. Turning around, she tried to hide the amused smile and managed a cocky smirk and a bad attitude.

"I'll have you know that the library staff does not tell me where and when I can go. I'm also sure my parents wouldn't care, seeing as I haven't spoken to them in years." Eyeing him, she arched a brow. "I see the mortuary let you play with living humans tonight. How sweet of them."

Watson's deep brown eyes scanned the pulsating crowd under florescent, strobing lights as he internalized the words coming from Brooklyn Matthews' mouth. In any other instance, the wizard would have had trouble catching her quietly confident words through the various distractions, but this situation was entirely different. Instead of struggling, the man found himself discretely hung up on every word as it carried to his ear with ease, a small smirk playing upon his lips as he computed the syllables. It certainly seemed his old friends' sister had a fire that he hadn't noticed at Hogwarts.

"And a rebel?" The tall, dark featured man, spoke through his smile, the cheekiness of his tone hard to miss. Watson clicked his tongue in Brooklyn's ear disapprovingly, his figure just behind hers, his hand still resting with purpose on her side, fingers holding delicately to the fabric of her top. "My, how things have changed, Miss Matthews," He raised his voice over the bass of the music.

A soft laugh escaped Watson's lips at Brooklyns fiery response, his chest swelling with the thrill of a match to his demeanor. It was rare to indulge in a conversation such as this, most women he came across were simply lost on his sense of humor. "They have a terrible reputation you know. Quite nice, really," He argued, taking her glass of water without question and throwing it under his nose.

"Water?" Watson handed the glass back off to Brooklyn, his mouth still near the back of her ear as he avoided the wayward glances from her protective friends. There was no doubt they were on high alert by now. "If you feel like having fun, Miss Matthews," The wizard took a step back, his hand slowly moving from her side as he did. "I'm buying you a drink either way," Watson clarified with a shrug. He wasn't much for chasing women, but if he were, Brooklyn would be the one. "Or am I going to have to physically remove you from your friends," Watson threatened with a sickeningly sweet smile, as he briefly waited for a sign as to how the night would proceed.
