There was progress, and he was making it his own. He worked hard, and he was making his way through the veins of the law enforcement department of the ministry of magic. However, he knew he had been putting much strain on his relationship with Mallory. He rarely saw her anymore and it made him feel ill to his stomach to know she was alone in their flat without him on some evenings because he would be working so often. Chael truly needed to be home with her tonight, so he made sure he would be and took off early.
Coming home, he had gotten flowers, roses, for his girlfriend. He was sure she was at home, or he hoped. It was only four in the afternoon and she may have been out. Either way he would be there for her when she did come home. Sighing, he turned the street corner to his apartment. He wished he wasn't such a lousy boyfriend. He wished he was more emotional and in tune with her. He didn't even understand why she stayed with him after all these years. Perhaps out of pity?
Walking finally to his apartment door, he entered the door gently. "Mal?" he said, rather quietly. "I'm home." he added.
