I am trying to address some owl mail (because I am a nerd like that) and I need to know what the proper format is.

For instance, if I'm sending something to someone at 14½ Chebbard Farm Cottages in Dorchester, from (for example) London, which is the proper postal code format:

  • Dorchester, Dorset DT2
  • Dorchester DT2 7LW
  • Dorchester DT2 7LW, UK
  • something else because I'm a stupid American :P
