[DDC] Hope that you see [Luciana]

The subject of moving has been on Gianna Regan's mind for quite some time now.

She hated admitting that one of her siblings was right (unless it was Carr, since he was always right in some capacity), but Nessa was right, and where she was currently living probably wasn't the best place. Not that she minded living near the red light district; she met lots of strange and interesting people all the time and it was eye-opening listening to their stories sometimes, but now that her last roommate had moved out, it probably wasn't all that safe living alone there. And she really couldn't afford the rent on her own anyhow. She always felt that the rent was way overpriced for what they were actually getting.

That still didn't mean that she wanted to move back home, even though she still caught herself getting a portkey from Diagon Alley back to Cork, back to the Regan estate that she seldom visited. Gia was on good terms with her family, generally, but most of the time she preferred to meet her cousins in places like London or literally anywhere else. She was one of the few whose career didn't really take off, and hanging around the grand-looking castle just made her feel more like a charity case than anything, and she swore on all her ancestors that she didn't come back this time to ask for money from her parents. She was just feeling a little... lost. Sometimes coming back to Ireland helped with that feeling.

Quietly, she padded through the marbled halls. She'd purposely chosen shoes that wouldn't click obnoxiously on the hard floors. She didn't really want her Nanna or any of her gossipy aunts to see her; she had enough of the tirade of questions from her friends, and she definitely didn't want to answer any more from her family. Plus, they probably won't be pleased since she skipped the last Regan family event just to get away from these pesky questions. Oops. Luckily for her, the castle was relatively empty for once, and she was surprised to see someone she hadn't really seen in a while. "Luci! I didn't know you were visiting!" She licked her lips and gave a small wave. They'd never been super close since she got along better with Kerr who was around her age, but Gia never gave up an opportunity to bond with any of her cousins. "Where did everyone go on a weekend?"

It was a warm day, for Ireland. Not the scorching heat of Italy that permeated through skin to the bone, just warm; like a bath been left to stand for too long before getting in. Luciana had the house (if that’s what you would call it) to herself, or near enough. Today was a rest day – no adventuring or sightseeing planned. She’d risen late, in fact only an hour or so ago and it was almost lunchtime, but that wasn’t unusual. She tended to wait until she was sure her aunt and uncle, and Kerr, were asleep before she morphed into her elemental form, though she knew that it was highly unlikely they would walk into her bedroom without warning or a response from her first.

Breakfast. Then maybe a walk outside to soak up some vitamin D. The brunette had braided her hair in a large, intricate plait. For once she wasn’t wearing a full-face of makeup, instead only the lightest touch of tinted moisturiser. She wasn’t expecting to see anyone, so what did it matter? She’d put on a simple white cotton t-shirt and denim shorts. Her feet were bare in anticipation of walking across the lawns, but the hard marble floor was cold underfoot.

Luciana rounded the corner and narrowly avoided bumping into a woman who looked as though she could be her older sister – the same dark hair and light skin, but Gianna was slightly taller, with blue eyes and a more willowy frame than her younger cousin. “Gia!” she exclaimed with reciprocal (if feigned) enthusiasm. “So good to see you..”  She spoke in a thick accent, giving her cousin a loose hug, kissing each cheek in turn. Gianna was not Luciana’s favourite Regan, but she was also far from her least favourite. Besides, the Italian was technically a guest in Gia’s home and so it would be rude to be, well, rude.

“Uh, I am not sure.” The elemental had her own agenda for being in Ireland (or rather, in the vicinity of the whole British Isles) for the summer, and hadn’t felt the need to keep tabs on her extended family in the hopes they would treat her in kind. “I think Kerrigan is with school friends, Aunt Alessia went out shopping – everyone else I do not know.” Luciana hadn’t seen the elder Regan siblings the entire time she’d been staying so far – she was fairly certain that Kerr was the only one still living at home. She herself would quite like her own place, away from the clutches of her father, but she’d never convince him of it. It had been hard enough to be allowed to come this far from home without a chaperone, but she was staying with family.

“Why are you home?” Luciana didn’t mean it to sound accusatory, but her limited command of English meant she had to make do. She added a close-lipped smile to try and make this clearer.

Gianna returned the customary kisses, glancing around her cousin's back distractedly. When it seemed for sure that they were safe from any pesky eavesdropping aunts, she sighed in relief and smiled for real at her cousin. Luci looked very pretty, young, fresh. Gia was sure she looked like a mess next to her. Even though she was the older one, it felt like Luciana was the more mature one, with the way she carried herself and her good manners.

The young woman resisted the urge to roll her eyes when asked what she was doing back home. Well technically it was her home, but it hadn't felt like that in a while. "I needed some advice," she sighed again, "And I was hoping mum would be here. Not that she's a great giver of advice, but her scathing disapproval of everything that I do wrong in my life, which is apparently everything, might be helpful now." Gia gave her cousin a wry smile. She was pretty sure they were both familiar with mothers like that, taking control of their lives in the least desirable ways.

"I hope you're doing better than me in the romance department, though. I heard you're here to find a suitor of some sort? Any luck with that?" She had been to Italy once, maybe twice in her girlhood, but even then she could remember how handsome the Italian men had been. British boys were nice, but generally lacked the whole 'sweep-you-off-your-feet' appeal. There was nothing as charming as a good tan and white teeth. Although... Gia's thoughts slipped to Levi's shoulders and eyes, and felt the heat rise to her cheeks.

Giving a small cough, she attempted to distract from her slip in composure, "Shall we go get a drink in the kitchen? I'm parched! Come on, I know where they keep the good alcohol. If we make a sandwich we can call it brunch and justify drinking in the day," she winked at her cousin. Not that she ever needed an excuse to drink.

@Lowri no pressure to reply since it's been so long! i just wanted the fpp points hahaha xD
