Because Brita's schedule was depenent on the classes she taught, her schedule was quite variable and sometimes she was surprised with days off. This was one of those times, though unfortunately it was caused by some of her students calling in sick. Faced with the prospect of nothing to do, she flipped to the ads in today's Prophet, scanning them until something caught her eye. "Oooh!" Promotion on tickets to the wizarding zoo! Brita hadn't been since she was a kid. The last time, she and Jesper had been watching the jobberknolls when one of them had abruptly fallen out of a tree and died in front of them, letting out a rather scarring scream of the sounds it had heard. Apparently it had been a rather long-lived jobberknoll, and there was always sound in the zoo. They hadn't been since.

But it had been long enough and Brita was not quite so worried about hearing an unearthly bird screeching, so she rolled up the coupon and apparated to the zoo. It was unusually crowded for some reason. Flipping back through the more news-related parts of the paper, she caught sight of Oliver Wood's picture next to an ad for a promotional event at the zoo, scheduled to start in a few minutes. Pushing her way through the crowd with many a cheerful "Excuse me! Sorry! Thank you!" the blonde witch arrived at the location of the event, right in front of the hippogriff enclosure, and spotted Oliver off to the side. Brita had been on the reserve team at Hogwarts, though she'd never made the real team, and both of them were friendly, so she considered him among her friends.

"Landed yourself in the paper again, huh?" she grinned, holding it up so he could see. "Maybe next time you can sneak in an ad for Impervius instead of the zoo for me, Gary would probably give me a raise," she laughed. "So are they putting you with the hippogriffs because all of you fly?" The Weird Sisters song was being played on repeat in this warmup to the event.

It was strange being at the zoo when he hadn’t been since he was a small child, yet here he was doing a fan friendly team promotion at the zoo, while secretly expecting a small child of his own with @Quinn Regan. It was funny he though, how life and time seemed to work both with you and against you at the same time. He was rather deep in thought about the whole thing when a familiar voice broke into his thoughts.

It was Brita Trickett! He hadn’t seen her in ages, he wasn’t sure how long it had been, but it had been long enough that he almost didn’t recognize her. “Hey! How have you been?” He greeted her with a bright smile and a laugh “I’ll do my best, but they don’t tend to tell me what I’m doing until I’m standing in front of it.” Like today, they had said come do a thing at the zoo, meet fans, sign autographs, the usual. Nobody had mentioned a Hippogriff once. Yet, there was a hippogroff not two feet from where he and Brita were standing. Tilting his head in it’s direction ever so slightly Oliver nodded “Yeah, I think the zoo wanted a gig, and they thought this was a clever solution. I think they want me to ride it? Anyway, what brings you out to the zoo?” Whatever her reason, he wasn’t going to complain, it was nice to have a familiar face around at events like these.
