All around her, people were chanting.

There were placards and magical, floating signs that hovered above the group. Most of the people there were dressed in colourful clothes, with Muggleborn Liberation and Freedom from oppression printed on their t-shirts in big letters. Freya had just come into Diagon Alley today to meet up with someone she considered family and now she was caught up in some weird rally. Freya was all for equality and all, but at the moment she just really wanted a cupcake from her favourite cafe. She ducked under the arms of someone who was chanting as they pumped their fists in the air and then almost tripped over a couple of others as she changed direction. She was like a leaf in the breeze, she thought.

The blonde stumbled out of the crowd with her glasses ajar and her bun tilted to the side unevenly. Fixing herself up as best she could, the blonde glanced over her shoulder at the rally she was trying to escape. Thankfully, they weren't heading the same way she was or she'd be trapped in their ranks forever. Freya hummed to herself as she started walking. She had a lot to talk to Ruari about today, if the older woman wanted to hear about it. She had a new job and was living with Finn now. Last time Freya had seen Ruari was at her dad's birthday party, but it had been a very fleeting sort of conversation. Most conversations in places like that were fleeting, she thought. Too many people to have any sort of deep and meaningful talks.

Freya finally made it to her cafe and after a quick glance inside gave a sigh of relief. She wasn't late. Or if she was, Ruari was later. Freya had always thought of Ruari as family, even during the time she wasn't dating Freya's older brother. Hal and Ruari were so dreamy, she thought with a little sigh. The blonde ordered a hot chocolate and took a seat at a corner table next to a large window so she could watch passersby as she waited for her big sister.
