When Dermod pulled her into his arms the young woman was quick to rest her hands comfortably on his chest, looking up at him with her mossy colored eyes and smiling sweetly up at him with a hint of adoration to her gaze before he pulled her tighter against him and she closed her eyes, her breath held as her hands balled into fists. She’d been forced to accept side along apparition all her life, and though she felt safest with Dermod it didn’t shake the horrific feeling in the pit of her stomach that something would go terribly wrong. She was literally trusting her life in someone else’s hands every time she let them take her away.
And then the winds tore at them both as she felt Dermod’s good hand rest on top of her head, his other arm still wrapped tightly around her as she slowly breathed in and released her death grip on his cloak and looked back up at him, reaching for her own hat. “Thanks...” she murmured, the wind now strong enough here to lift her off her feet she felt. That was an exageration, probably, but the young witch would certainly be far more comfortable once she and her husband were back inside the warmth of the castle. She had noticed that it always felt warmer when she’d been out for a while, and rather suspected the elves were lighting fires in her absence, only to carefully remove all trace or smell of them when she came back. The same thing seemed to happen when she went into the dining hall for dinner. She smiled a little, but sadly, at the thought.
Fortunately Dermod was quick to pick up on their previous conversation, distracting her from her own guilty conscience. “Oh yes. Certainly.” she smiled, clinging to his arm still as they walked up the steps to the castle proper. “And i rather think theres enough time to do some other explorations before lunch… if you think we can manage in only an hour.” the blush on her cheeks and the hint of flirtation in her voice gave away that she was not suggesting they explore what exotic plants might have been left to run wild in the greenhouse. With that, she left go of his arm and entered first, allowing Kit to take her coat and hat before smiling back at him and walking briskly for the stairs, glancing back to be sure he was following her.
