She said yes. One word, three letters and they meant the world to him right now. The young man tried to hide the almost foolishly wide smile. They were having lunch together. They were maybe not a couple but they were a 'they' now. Not two names separated by a comma or an 'and' but they were consolidated in one word. Maybe this was just for a lunch but it was for the first time in ages that they were doing something together.
“Whatever you like,†he breathed as she suggested an Italian restaurant. As if he cared what food he'd get for lunch if he could spend time with her.
They stepped over to Anne and left the apartment not without a shooting a last glance into the beautiful flat that they'd, hopefully, soon share. They stepped down the stairs and Anne talked to Sylvain. He tried to answer her questions but, truth be told, he didn't really listen nor did he pay much attention to what she said. She babbled on about the surroundings and how the flat was perfect for them and Sylvain nodded. “I'm happy that we found it. We'd be delighted to move in. It's really the flat of dreams.†He smiled at Anne but it was his artificial smile. His sincere smile was saved for Lyra.
As she grabbed his arm, he looked at her and instantaneously his smile reached his eyes. “Yes,†he nodded. “Let's go.â€
