"Sooo for the next one, should I get the..." Wini perused the cocktail menu, biting her lip. "Pineapple and orange margarita or the.. raspberry and yuzu? Wait, what is yuzu anyway? Sounds kinda good, right?"
She glanced up at Circe sitting across from her at the round hightop table near the back of
Frida's on Saturday night. It was an unexpected friendship with Circe, but she had not-so-surprisingly loved the girl time, especially since she had been spending so much time with Marin and Lip lately. And with the way things were going after Hogwarts, Wini had felt extra in need of.. something. She wasn't sure what the something was, but she did know she felt jittery and restless when she was alone in her room at William's. So going out with Circe for cocktails (which felt fabulously mature and adult) was something she had been super keen on. And it gave her an excuse to wear the new
white dress she had bought on a shopping splurge lately, a little shorter, a little tighter than usual, but it made her feel bold. She tried not to be self-conscious about the hem as she shifted on her stool.
As the waiter came back, Wini gave him a smile, trying to ignore how nice his smile was, and then stuttered through a cocktail order, giving Circe a grimacing smile after he had taken both of their orders and walked away. "Did I mess that up? I sounded like a dork, didn't I," Wini sighed and loaded up a chip with some guac, careful not to drop any on her dress.
Wini resisted the urge to glance over her shoulder at the waiter. She needed to get better at ordering cocktails. It still felt brand new and almost like breaking the rules, but that was silly, all things considered. "Tell me more about this new guy? Are you ever going to tell me his name?" Wini wiggled her brows as she finished the last of her first margarita.
