Muggle-born Registration Commission

How did people know who was Muggleborn/who wasn't? I know there's a Pureblood directory, but beyond that was there a list of all Muggleborns? I ask because my character, Jimmy Mordecai, is a Muggleborn conman, and I was wondering if maybe there were papers Purebloods/Halfbloods needed to have that he could somehow forge for a profit.

Aha, it says here that some people forged their family trees. Is this consistent with MH's rules?

If it's canon, as that is (Dirk Cresswell and the forging is mentioned several times in the book) then yes, that's certainly consistent with MH. I can't comment on it relating to your character, not an admin, but the fact that family trees were forged by some (although not always successfully) should be able to be taken as fact.

Yes some people would have forged papers but as said before it was not always successful.
