NPC ~ Liv Trickett

Good golly, Liv was late, late, late. She’d taken way too much time finishing up the decals on Freya’s card (it was her gift that was inside it) and individually frosting each cupcake perfectly so that it looked like something that was related to her interests. Snitches, letters, colors, whatever fit the bill was on those cupcakes, considering that Freya’s gift from Liv wasn’t exactly tangible... yet. Liv had gone through the experience of being the youngest girl in the family with a bunch of older, very protective male influence, and it wasn’t exactly a cakewalk, so she was going to treat her younger cousin to a little bit of relatable baby-of-the-family time. Time that would let her come into her own a little, at least, that was the intent of the near-future shopping trip. After all that, the former Hufflepuff had spent way, way too much time deciding what she’d be wearing to the party. It wasn’t really like she had anybody to impress there, because it was really only family, but since it was all taking place at the bakery she felt like she was going to work, almost, and needed to dress up at least a little.

Sighing triumphantly after all the arduous tasks she’d completed, Liv scrunched her blonde curls one more time before swinging her handbag over her shoulder and hearing the little pop. Liv took the moment once she’d apparated to straighten her dress and look down at her shoes to make sure everything was pristine. Their family wasn’t full of giants, but, there were enough tall men to make her feel short, considering that she only stood at 5’4”. Liv therefore tended to wear heels quite a bit and this time wasn’t any exception to that general rule. She could hear the racket coming from Geri’s bakery from more than a few strides away, so she figured that maybe she could slip in without being too conspicuous.

Approaching her place of employment, the blonde carefully opened the door, wincing all the while with the container of cupcakes in hand, and hurried over to set them on the table away from everyone else. She assumed that an ambush of greetings would occur sooner or later, but she was going to lay low and let Freya finish opening the gifts she was currently entertained with. Liv briefly wondered where Hal was, and how he was getting on without her. Leifr’s presence was an obvious one, as well as Alf’s, and of course, Freya’s sunny personality shone through as usual. Trickett parties were not without the presence of the little ones, either, which Liv also immensely enjoyed. Being children-savvy, she had every intent of addressing each little rugrat individually after she’d taken the time to talk to Freya.

Waiting until Freya had finished opening her gifts from their other family members, Liv skittered over to her and thrust the bedazzled, sparkly card (that she had painted on, glued on, and basically art-vomited all over in order to make) at Freya's chest and grinned widely, pulling the younger blonde Trickett into a tight hug, despite the fact that her hands were full of wrapping paper and the like. “Happy Birthday, Freya! I’m so ssooo sorry that I’m late, but I was finishing these things up and I just lost track of time... you know how I get. I’m not exactly the most punctual person on the planet.” Rolling her eyes, Liv acknowledged the rest of her family with a friendly, almost guilty wave and a bright “Hello, everyone! I’m here now.” She was fashionably late, right? Not too bad. She’d live, even if the guilt ate away at her for hours.

All of the other gifts, including a firebolt, holy Merlin, looked incredibly extravagant and generous compared to hers, but shopping wasn’t cheap and Liv’s measly card was but a coverup for how much she really intended to spoil her cousin for her sixteenth birthday. Liv had gotten treated like a princess for her sixteenth birthday, as every girl should be, and she was determined to do her part in making Freya's birthday equally as wonderful.
