i can't let her slip away [tag; lorin]

Tavish needed air, or at least a way out of this castle for a little while. He was cooped up practically all holiday with studying, and writing out useless terms which would be no use for him in his future. After a moment or two of debating with himself he decided that he needed some tea, or a sweet of some sort. Since it was the weekend, he was allowed some time at Hogsmeade - and Hogsmeade meant Crumbs bakery. Finally, he stood up, threw his jacket on and boots and headed out the door towards the bakery.

It seemed like an eternity that he had to walk because of the snowy grounds. However, by the time he got close to the street, he could practically float to the bakery in ecstasy of the scents coming from all the treats inside. Tavish immediately picked up his pace and let himself inside the small shop. His eyes were quickly scanning the specials list and he noticed one particular sweet which he wanted to order twenty of - the smores cupcake. How many calories did that thing pack in? Meh, he didn't care. He was going to take two.

Shuffling up to the counter like a school boy, he ordered himself two smores cupcakes and a green tea, paid his dues, and shuffled right over to a corner booth so he could watch the snow as he ate. Digging a fork straight away into one of the cupcakes, he began to take a bite just as he saw the door open and the bells jingle. Screw the cupcake, he was now too focused on the girl who had entered.

That was Lorin. She was a girl in his house and year, and she was much different than the other girls. She had class, and curves. He had only spoken to her a few times, and he was quite sure she was never going to notice him. She seemed to go for Gryffindors, or at least boys who had something going for them. All he had was his books and stupid looks on his face.

Glaring down at his desserts, he wondered if she would miraculously come over and join him, so he began to push the second cupcake closer to her, so close, that it fell right off the table. "Shit." he said, as he leaned down to pick up the mess he had made.

for all we know, this void will grow. i'll mend myself before it gets me.
