Charlotte stood, shivering in her short sleeved-shirt, wondering just what in the hell she had gotten herself into.

Earlier that Saturday, she'd been antsy, feeling like she'd been locked up in Hogwarts for weeks on-end studying for O.W.L.s. Ever since the magic had returned, there'd been a sigh of collective relief throughout the school. However, that just meant, for Charlotte, that she needed to use magic tons more to make up for wasted time; this resulted in an almost-detention from Filch a few days prior. She wasn't even sure that he had the authority to condemn students to spending their late-spring afternoons trapped in a musty classroom, but all the same she promised the old man vehemently that she'd never practice magic outside of the classroom again, having just enchanted a lantern to sing the Spice Girls.

Since then, she'd been careful with what she was doing, but that was never any fun. She needed to do something crazy, something totally outside of what was allowed. And that was when she realized she needed to enlist someone to do something prohibited with her; it was never any fun if you just did it yourself, after all. Harvey Landsdowne was the perfect candidate to potentially sway into doing something with her. He was a year above her and a glorious muscular brunette who was probably been sought after by half the school by this point-- his most redeeming quality, though, was that he liked to stir up trouble as much as she.

So, Charlotte tracked down Harvey like a wolf after prey, a devious glint in her eyes when she basically pounced on him as he came up the stairs to the Gryffindor Common Room earlier that day. "Shrieking Shack. I haven't been in it before and I know you haven't either. You too chicken to go?" And he was hooked.

They'd traveled through Hogsmeade discreetly, not wanting any wandering eyes to see the two forms hurrying towards the edge of the forest to arrive at the fence for the Shrieking Shack. Always the hothead, Charlotte made sure she went through the fence first. The house loomed closer and closer as the pair had walked forth. Now about twenty meters from the house, the blonde felt her stomach twisting uncharacteristically. Was this...fear she was feeling?

Charlotte shook her head, glancing up and over at Harvey to gauge his reaction to being this close to the supposedly haunted house. He really was cute. But, she snapped herself back to the matter at hand, this wasn't the time to think about such things. They were about to enter the Shrieking Shack, the place that even some of the Gryffindors wouldn't get within a thousand meters of. Rubbing her arms to stave off the unusually cold wind that was blowing, blonde hair raising off of her back from said breeze, she commented, "How do we get in?"

This hadn't been something she had thought of. There weren't any doors to enter, so they'd have to somehow enter through one of the windows. It was lucky that there were some ground-floor ones so they wouldn't have to use their wands to propel themselves to the second floor. Staring at the nearest one, Charlotte felt the prickle of nervousness. "Well, go on then," she gestured towards the window, staying firmly rooted to her spot. Unless Harvey called her out bluntly on her apparent cowardice, there was no way that she'd be the first one to enter. She'd heard through rumor that Snape had died in here, and that alone made her want to run for the hills. But fear was there to be overcome, right? And this place just called out as something crazy to do.

Making up her mind to be strong, dammit, the girl stepped forward before Harvey had the chance to react, raising her wand. "Reducto." She waved her wand and pointed it at the window, watching as the wooden planks were reduced to clouds of dust. Seeing as the entrance had been properly blasted through, Charlotte thew a wild grin over her shoulder, reckless abandon clear in her tone, and asked, "Are you coming, or just going to stay there like you were petrified?" as she raised one leg, throwing it over the window sill to make purchase on the wooden floorboards below.
