Jane needed this: a girls' night. Morwen had invited her over to her and Beka's flat for drinks, snacks, and a movie. She'd have offered to just use her and Ryan's flat, instead, but she knew well enough that her two best friends did not get on well with one another. Something about Ryan grabbing her when they were in school. Honestly, she wasn't surprised. While she now knew that her roommate was gay, he'd been known to flirt, and more, with a lot of girls in school.
Just like Darren...It really had been no wonder that she'd
thought that she fancied him. Of course, that was utterly insane. Ashley was a welcome distraction. They weren't anything official yet, but she was already starting to develop
feelings.
Ugh. Why did she always do this to herself? Of course, at least her American friend was much more likely to reciprocate her feelings than anyone else she'd been with recently.
Tightening the flannel shirt that was tied around her waist, Jane approached Wen's apartment. It was a nice place; nice neighborhood. It was definitely a lot different than her and Ryan's place. She knew that their neighborhood wasn't the "best" or "safest," but it was home. She'd lived in rough neighborhoods like that for the entirety of her life, and, as far as she knew, so had Ryan. Still, maybe they could upgrade eventually? That was if she could manage to talk Ryan into it. Perhaps, with Kelly going back to school soon and Jane having a couple of weeks off from hunting with Ashley, the flat wouldn't be so much of a circus and they could have an actual, serious conversation about it with no distractions?
Meh. He probably still wouldn't go for it, but it was worth a shot.
Climbing the stairs up to Wen's apartment, she knocked a bit loudly when she finally reached the door. "Hey, I'm here! And I'm parched. I hope you have something good to drink." Knowing Wen, she would. A girl after her own heart, that one.
