Big brown eyes watched as they took box after delicious box into the candy store. She waited patiently as she watched the men work, knowing that as soon as she could she would be inside taking from the shelves. Her sucker supply had dropped dangerously low, too low for her own comfort. With so much time on her hands to explore this whole new world around her she needed a lolli for every occasion. Her black shorts rested just low enough to cover what was important and her half jacket was all that she wore outside of the neon blue bikini top. Her white sneakers carried her into the store amidst a group of children.
She danced through the crowd on the tip of her toes, spinning as she took a piece of candy from a shelf. The smile on her face was a big as her personality as the bag hanging from her wrist grew heavier and heavier by the second. She paused, head tilted, as she looked at a wall of chocolate. She wasn’t a fan but still she took a piece, weighing it in her hand as she spun to walk back the way she had come. Her gaze shifted to see a man watching her and she lifted a brow as she opened the wrapper to take a bite. A quick glance told her he was the ‘Manger’ by the tag on his shirt. She moved towards him, her free hands moving out to snatch sickles and galleons from the shoppers she brushed against.
Lifting the bar she placed it to his lips, waiting, while also invading his personal space. “You shouldn’t stare at strangers, it could prove to be quite dangerous.” She sung into his ear.
Red cowboy carried her through the bar as she twirled, taking from each person she passed as she did. A dance, so elegant and perfect. Her hands meeting their destination as just the right moment, the smile to cause a distraction and then she would drift ever so slightly to the next person. This was her favorite past time. Her most favorite thing in the world to do, but still she was bored. She paused at a table, leaning against the cool wood as she scanned the room. “Boooored now.” Came her first words of the night before she was drifting back out into the crowd.
It wasn’t long before she could feel someone eyes on her, watching her as she moved. She was done taking what she deemed to be hers but she could still feel the nasty gaze of an onlooker. Mishka spun, her pigtails whipping in the air as she did in the direction she felt the gaze by be coming from. Her brown eyes floated over the crowd but she could spot no one and that angered her. “No!” She stomped her foot in protest as people turned to look at her. Her wand had been drawn somewhere between her yell and the stomping of her foot. Jets of lights shot from its tip in every direction where someone was bound to be hit. “It’s not nice to stare!” She yelled before she moved to the bar to sit with a huff. People were scrambling, running for their lives, as she leaned over the bartop for a bottle of whiskey.
She drank it straight from the bottle as she fell victim to a fit of laughter. As if there in the moment, the young witch laughed. She leaned back, put her hand on her stomach and laughed. Truly laughed from the pit of all that was good in her, even if it wasn’t much, before she put the candy bar in his pocket and exited the store. That was fun. She reached in her newly filled bag, her eyes dropped down to see what color the suckers were as she put two in her hair, one on the side of each pigtail before grabbing a blue one to enjoy. “Ooof.” Came the sound of her body touching something solid, her sucker falling to the ground as her hands reached out to place themselves firmly on a chest. “You made me drop my sucker.” She gritted through her teeth as she pushed with no affect against the unknown person’s body.
“My sucker…” She pouted out, bottom lip quivering as if she would cry. Now that was a waste of perfectly good candy.
