“I know,†Eleanora responded, figuring that it didn’t bear reminding him that he had made a mistake in believing their cousin Genevieve and that because of it he might have lost the most important person in his life. But the witch also knew how manipulative their cousin was and how such talents had gotten her into the heads of so many other people their age. “The important thing is that you have Jacq now and that you learned from that experience,†she explained. Eleanora had learned a thing or two about living in the present, and that was that if one gave too much value to the decisions made in the past, it was almost impossible to move forward.
“So stop worrying about that and worry about mum getting mad you’ve quit the apothecary,†she reminded him again, stifling a yawn as she wondered if their mum would make an appearance in the morning or if she’d give Andy the benefit of the doubt and just leave him alone. Sure he was a seventh year now but none of the immediate heirs were dying off anytime soon, it wasn’t as if Andy didn’t have the time or potential to explore other avenues.
