"It really is." he agreed with a smile, eyes lingering on her face. He wasn't sure how this whole interaction had gone from frighteningly unpleasant to, well, sort of nice actually.

A flicker of confusion crossed his face for a split second before another smile blossomed. He wasn't sure if he'd made her nervous just then, but she seemed alright. "That's hurtful." he accused wryly, though a glimmer of amusement remained. He'd been mostly teasing, of course, mostly because he'd never considered himself trouble, exactly. Maybe. How did one qualify as being 'trouble' anyway, right? Though he did have to admire the bitten off smile on her face.

"Food." he agreed, as he tugged at their clasped hands. "Kitchens?" he offered as he let go and went to grab his own things. He was, mostly, pleased with what he'd managed to brew. Luckily it had already been mostly finished when Wini had come in to begin with. Once everything was put away he slung his messenger back across his shoulders and leaned on a nearby desk to wait the Hufflepuff out. "Ready?" he asked as he leaned forward.

{out!}

She laughed as he threw a playful accusation at her and perhaps because this felt brand new or perhaps because she was actually feeling something other than dread and dismay in a Potions classroom, Wini gave him a little lift of her shoulder, her eyes glittering. "You're the one who said it," she replied with a small shove on his arm, her insides feeling all jittery and warm, unable to stop the smile from her face.

He tugged her up and they both got their stuff, Wini peering nosily into his cauldron and giving him a narrowed look. "Are you sure you're rubbish at Potions because this looks pretty good," she ventured before she nodded. "Kitchens," she agreed, glancing down as she fumbled with the clasp of his bag before she glanced up and he gave her a chance to admire the way he leaned against the desk, his long legs stretched out before him. "Ready," she echoed again and then made her way out, thinking that, for once, her extra Potions study hadn't turned out to be so terrible.

And it was all thanks to Ben.
