[Announcement] End of term info for students characters {June 1998}

Sheet updates which serve to prepare sheets for the next school year (i. e. if the student is aged just one year) can be submitted in June (real time) without extra admin approval. Anyone wishing to age a student by more than a single year or to age a younger student (that is any student younger than a 7th year) to adult should first contact a member of the admin team and ask for approval.

Hogwarts characters who would have taken O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s this year would take these exams at the ministry during the summer. There are no other exams held and we don't plan to play the exams out IC.

If you have British muggleborn characters and wish for them to be sorted into their former house at Hogwarts you should submit their sheets, tell us what you changed / added and then the characters will be sorted again. For muggleborns who spent the last months at Beauxbatons sheets only need to be resubmitted in this manner if they intend to return to Hogwarts.

Does this mean that you can edit the age into your characters sheet yourself without having to go through the sorting process, Or, does it mean that you post it into sorting and the admins post it where it should be and whatever else may be needed?

Just to clarify, we'll start sorting sheet updates on 1st June, and then you will have the whole month to submit your updated sheet for us to resort. There's really no need to put anything into the sorting hat before that time as we aren't going to be touching them before then. The announcement was to give everyeone time to work on their updates before they needed to be submitted.

If we're planning on aging a character up a few years but not to an adult should we still notify the admins prior to submission??

We're doing it this way because people have complained in the past that they don't like posting in classes to advance that way, and they haven't had time to take part in the end of term activities we usually organised to allow advancement that way. As almost everyone has a permanent sandbox we assumed several weeks would be plenty of time to be able to post updated sheets. These updates are purely to age characters. Updates due to expanding on personality, alterations to history, adding in new connections or anything else can be submitted at any time as always.

Yes. This is for ageing characters by one school year, eg second year to third year, or seventh year to adult. If they've had their birthday already but you don't post the update, they remain in the current school year - ie will need to repeat a year - UNLESS you already gained sufficient posts that they are already showing one year above the year you are currently playing (Edyta has had a third year's post count for the past couple of months despite being a second year, for example).

And if you want to age characters by more than one year yes, you always need to check with an admin first. Its also nice to warn anyone who you've worked out history with, because if your character is suddenly a few years older than theirs it tends to mess up their sheet history and they'll have to rewrite as well.

However if you're ageing your character by ONE year you don't need to ask permission. That is normal sheet ageing which is what we're accepting for the month of June.

Do we need to remove the Hogwarts sorting, Durmstrang sorting, Beauxbatons sorting bit from the sheet?
