Just as a general reference for my characters, those potential first years barred from attending Hogwarts would be able to now, yes? Would that mean the incoming first years will be twice as large this coming term (and a much longer ceremony needed)?

yes they would start this year but there wouldn't be twice as many... muggleborns are meant to be on the rare side afterall. There's only one in Harry's year as far as we know, so there would only be a few extra at most, really.

At least two (Hermione and Justin Finch-Fletchly) but yeah agree with Hansolo that there won't be too many extras. Probably not many more than regular variances in birth rates.

Thanks. I think I remember rowling stating that muggleborns make around 25 percent of Hogwarts's annual intake, and since MH somehow feels larger (i think we have more students per year than  in the books) so my perception got skewed.
