So, is it normal or strange when a witch dies during pregnancy/while giving birth, or is it just not possible?

It is odd if the preganacy was normal without complications.  Think of it this way...is it odd for a modern woman to die during childbirth?  If for some reason the womanlfamily refused to seek medical help after something went wrong then maybe, but other then that it is very rare.

To give you some perspective. The mortality rate during childbirth in the UK is about 8 in every 100 000 births. So for every 125 000th character on MH we could have a mother who died in childbirth - and that would be assuming that wizarding medicine is on par with muggle medicine and not far superior as evidenced in the books.

So, basically, it is weird?
