Spell Question for Admins
« on: January 30, 2012, 10:34:40 AM »
Hi!  With out giving too much away for our thread: (A Necessary Evil - Studying). Jacob is going to help Cori with Transfiguration and well since she's bad at it there will be a bit of a problem.

After a bit of research on the HP Wiki I found there is 'Chair to Cat' transfiguration spell that was used in the Philosopher's Stone Video game, but there is no verbal spell given.  In the movie, they use Fera Verto for the 'animal to water goblet'.   So would 'Verto Cattus' perhaps work as the spoken spell or maybe 'Muto Cattus' with 'Muto' meaning to change/alter?

Fera Verto actually means to turn from a beast...I would imagine the spell would be the same, but the intention of the spell be different.  So like just when a person turns into an animal they are different in their mind so would the intention of turning the cat into the chair rather then the water goblet.  Hope that helps.

OK.  Thanks Lauren.  I was thinking it'd be different going from the object to the animal.
