[solved] Your Number of Posts

This has been kinda bugging me since Abby's been sorted, but when a character hasn't been sorted yet their post count is 0, and then when they get sorted they have a certain number of posts. Abby had/has 40. Now my question is what sort of posts are being counted? Is it your total posts (IC and OOC)? And how/when does it change? When your character goes up a year? I assume those posts and the FPP are separate...

Class posts, posts in the library and at the Quidditch pitch are generally counted. When you make a post in any one of those places it counts as one (this works for anyone, whether they're a student, professor, or completely random character playing an NPC for a plot). OOC posts aren't, otherwise someone could go up from first to seventh year in a day just by spamming. Sometimes we have special plot boards where posts are counted there as well, but we don't have any of those just now.

When you say "how/when does it change" I assume you mean at what number does a character go from first to second year? The chart for that can be found here.

As for posts in the FPP, people generally claim those in order to add to their character's post count to help them to move up a year. This is particularly useful with 7th year characters who, as you can see need to gain a higher number of posts in order to graduate.

But I haven't posted any IC posts yet with Abby... I'm just rather confused by how she got 40 posts that's all...Sorry I know I'm not explaining my question(s) very well...

I have participated in all the classes and have a library thread,but I am still having trouble getting points. Is this normal?

well, she would become a 6th year when she reached the amount of points. However, if you do not wish that, you can poke one of us to remove some posts from her account to keep her a 5th year.

(and if you want, we can also keep a note of how many posts we remove, and then put them back once she reaches sixth year. I know I did that for a few people last time the school year changed xD)

You look like you're doing pretty well to me! We're only in November playtime; there are still 6 months playtime which could be up to a year real time to get the post count up, so don't worry!

Not to bug or anything, and no hurry, but were you able to check to see how I got the 40 posts I did with Abby, Carys? I'm assuming like Inga mentioned that I was just given them, but I just wanted to be sure. (Because I'm weird and I care about things like that )
