How to add a signature to account?

working a little on my signiture for my account, (it dosn't look very good at the moment) I'm not really sure how to "upload" it on the forums, does it require certain coding?, where does this coding go? do i need to put the image on an image hosting website first? If anyone could get back to me about this i would be very glad.

Upload the signature image to a site like tinypic/photobucket/imgur, then put the link to that upload in img tags so it looks like this: [img*]image URL[/img*] minus the *'s
