[solved] magical babies

Salomé's mom's a muggle-loving muggleborn. Her dad's a muggle. Her mom didn't tell her dad she was magic until Salomé began exhibiting the first signs of magic.

Typically, at what age would these signs appear and what would they be?

Usually a child with magical ability will show some sort of sign by the age of 7. I think its usually triggered by s strong emotion.

As for examples of the first sign.. there are no set signs really. In canon, I know Neville was dropped out a window but he bounced upon landing, so that was his first sign. But with my characters, I just think of a situation where they would be feeling something strongly. Rumjana set her cousin's hair on fire when she was angry about something and I think Wini levitated something? You can probably look through some different character sheets for some examples of what drivers on MH have written down.

Hmm. Going by Neville in the books, most magical children seem to have shown *some* signs of magic by the age of around eight, so anything from toddlerhood to there seems reasonable.

As for signs? Levitating something, summoning an object, breaking something they weren't touching - those sorts of things are always safe bets. I'd personally avoid stuff like levitating onto a roof or growing hair several inches overnight (Harry- level underage magic!) because that's likely to freak the muggle parent out I suspect!

Hope that helps a bit

Is making a girl develop bunny teeth okay? Or is that actually Transfiguration and thus wayyyy too advanced?

HAHAHA I'd say go for it simply because it's funny! Just have some kind of trigger so she doesn't just wake up with them one morning...
