So I have this idea and wanted to run it by admins and even members to see what they think. We have a separate thread for any open threads that people can post into so others who are looking for threads can find. Which got me to thinking, what if we had an thread like that for characters that are up for adoption? A lot of people on MH have families they would like to see played or even someone important for their character and/or plot. A separate thread would make it easier to see all the characters up for adoption rather then go through each member sandbox. That way if we have a character idea we can find a family they fit in or a character that is already needed just like the idea we have.

It can be regulated by moderators or admins and when a new post is added it could all go into one topic that is arrange by school/age and so on.

We could require people to post in it if they have taken an character up for adoption. Like how people post in the face claim. Then an moderator or admin can update it that way.

Were you thinking of having a list of actual characters, or links to peoples' sandboxes where they have the lists? Just wondering how it could work without a huge amount of updating.

Ooooh I really like this idea... when I was looking to adopt (and eventually decided on Keela, here!) it was kind of tedious to pick through everyone's sandbox to see if anyone had characters for adoption. But it was also confusing because even if they did, the characters weren't necessarily listed in the sandboxes. xD I think this would really help streamline the process. =]

Maybe instead of having a list updated by admins/whoever, each driver could make a post in the same thread and list any chars/familiies/info they want to adverise/adopt out. That way drivers can update their own lists when they have new chars to add or need to make edits?

This seems like a perfect compromise. <33 So it would basically work like the thread for people looking for threads.

That could work... and I think it would be relatively easy to have a first post which simply lists the drivers who have chars up for adoption and links to that particular post

I like that Rinn. Similar to how we have RP requests. Each driver makes their own post.

exactly. that way there's one place to look for adoptables/etc but without all the trouble of keeping it updated.

Oh good idea Rinn! That way we can keep track of it ourselves and then remove the post if/when all our characters get adopted. So that's less work for the admins

I love this idea. I have a bunch of characters I would like adopted and this might help to speed up the process.
