[Announcement] Board Changes!

In light of recent admin changes, we have decided to take a course of action to get this site back on its feet. Effective April 15th (that's two weeks from now, folks) we will be rolling back the clocks of the site and starting anew with book one. Over the next two weeks, the administration will be holding auditions for various canon characters and we will be de-aging ALL characters back so that they fit the timeline of the book. For those of you with young characters, you may want to consider deleting them as your existing plots will no longer be possible. In addition, we will be closing down the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons schools and will not re-introduce them until the fourth book. Lastly, we've noticed the growing trend of bigger families on the site, so aside from canon characters all new characters will need to be connected to the Regan or Trickett families.

We hope you all understand and respect our decisions for this site. If you have any questions, please address them in this topic.

I already said all I intend to. I'm just curious what everyone else thinks.

Wow, this certainly wasn't something that I was expecting. Personally when I joined MH in 2011, the big pull for me was Beauxbatons since most of the other sites I saw only offered Hogwarts or Durmstrang and I'd always been interested in a Beauxbatons character. Now with all the ageing down and the getting rid of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, well that kind of leaves me with no characters, Phoebe would be too young as would Avia but Vee's from Beauxbatons and Fleur would be from Beauxbatons too.

So this pretty much leaves me needing to create new characters etc, though I do however respect the staff's decision and I shall put my thinking cap on in order to create new characters.

I can't... umm I definitely picked the wrong time to come back to this site.  I get the site needs activity but this is way too far, I don't think it's fair that you guys didn't even consult the members before making such a huge freakin' decision.  personally, there's no way in seven hells I'm de-aging Tempest and rendering any character development since I started playing him 6 years ago invalid.  not sure where that leaves my standing as a member of this site but...  no.

Honestly, why does it matter if we consulted the members or not? In the long run the final decision is ours and this was something we've been planning for a while. With Carys resigning it made the time to strike perfect. It's fine if you don't want to de-age your characters, I'm sure there are plenty of other sites out there where you can play.

I would've expected more out of you and now I can see how wrong I was for that.  I've been on this site for six to seven years and have never, ever had an admin conduct themselves this way.  pathetic.  you wonder why activity's down?  take a good look at yourselves, won't take much digging to find an explanation there.
