Elaine was relieved when she heard that he'd finish his shift late tonight. It meant that she would have enough time to explain to her parents what might have happened to Meredith. So far she hadn't told anyone about her assumptions that she was the reason for her sister's condition. The brunette hadn't wanted her parents to worry even more than they already did and next to that she had also been afraid of their reaction. Her whole family was accepting her just the way she was but magic still scared them. Her three siblings were fine with it but her parents… Just after her seventeenth birthday Elaine had promised them that she wouldn't use any magic at home and so far she had kept that promise.

Not that giving her potions would actually count as magic…

Still, it would take quite some time to explain that a magical healer would come over to examine Meredith and that it was probably her fault that her little sister was sick. They would understand, though. Gwen and Gwilym were as desperate as she was, if not even more desperate, and they would do anything to help their daughter even if it meant that they had to allow magic into their house.

They stood there in silence again, neither  saying a word. Elaine felt as if he wanted to add something, as if there was something he wanted to tell her but then the moment was gone. Whatever it was, it probably wasn't important. They didn't know each other and that wouldn't change. They'd see each other again later and then maybe whenever they met so that she could give him what he wanted in return for his help but other than that she doubted that they would cross paths again. At least not on purpose.

I know, she wanted to respond when he said his name but decided against it. It was a useless bit of information that she already knew who he was and there was no need to tell him. "Elaine Morgan." She shook his hand with a firm grip, her eyes still fixed on his face. There was nothing more to add and so she waited until he closed the door behind her before she took her wand out of her bag and apparated back to Llandudno. At least there was hope now.
