[solved] crazy snake people

I didn't see it anywhere on the board or the internet, so forgive me if I missed it somewhere, but what is the standing of parselmouths in the wizarding society after the war? Obviously there aren't many around, but I wanted to know if there is any canon information (which i kinda doubt).

I assume they would face some sort of shunning or fanatical discrimination, considering the connection with the dark lord. If there is no canon information, can i make up some? (within the scope of reason?) If so, I'm up to any suggestions.

There is no real what happens after the war info out there, but I would still say that people would still be a little bit of unease of someone were to find out.  As far as fanatical discrimination I would say that would be an extreme, but of course there is someone with a prejudice to the extreme about everything.  It could happen but it would most likely be an individualized occurrence rather than something that would happen everyday on the street.

Hope that helps!

As they're so rare, I'm not sure there would be any sort of widespread discrimination. I mean, it's not the sort of talent people tend to tell all their friends about, anyway, so I would imagine that anyone who was a parselmouth would just carefully keep it to themselves. I very much doubt the Ministry would want to hunt down or imprison parselmouths just because they had that ability - any more than there would be widespread shunning of anyone who practised occlumency or legilimency, which were also rare forms of magic that Voldemort practised.
