Myk moved swiftly through the streets of London. He yawned as he slipped between people in the ever moving crowds of this city. It seemed that the more time he spent back home, the more crowded and busy London seemed to become.
He pulled a silver pocket watch from the chest pocket of his robes. It was early afternoon here, but it was the middle of the night for him. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his freehand. That was when he bumped into a sales cart. He jumped back startled, letting go of his watch.
“My apologies.” He said softly to the woman pushing the cart. He then slipped around the cart. His watch hung by a silver chain down his chest. He plucked at the watch and dropped it inside the pocket it belonged in. He shook his head slowly and continued his way down the street.
This makes two days without sleep. His mind was still reeling about that conversation with Alex. Why was the man helping Myk? He knew Alex has a good heart, he always has. But Myk knew he had hurt his lover. No, he had to remember that Alex was no longer his fiancé, even though, as Myk had noticed, the both of them were still wearing their rings. Myk had refused to take his off because he wanted to be with Alex, but why hadn’t Alex removed his ring.
He saw the sign for the coffee shop and stopped with raised eyebrows. This was the place. He moved into entrance way, pulling the door open and slipping inside. He slowly pulled his leather gloves off his hands. The white gold engagement ring glittered in the light. He glanced down at it, remembering as Alex had slipped it onto his hand. Then he stared around the room for the girl that followed Alex’ description.
