someway, baby, it's a part of me, apart of me [theo]

It had been five hours since Parthenia had arrived in London, exactly seventy-two since she'd had her first clear-as-day vision, and though she knew that she should probably try to get in touch with Samuel Dickinson before she tried to seek out this poor dying boy, she couldn't help but need to see if she could stop anything from happening. Tonight, the conditions were completely different from what she had expected, but a nice witch she had ran into directed her to Diagon Alley, and at least she knew, for a fact, that this was where it was all supposed to happen. Whether or not it already had, Parthenia didn't know. She didn't know if she'd see it, or if someone else would, but she needed to try to recreate exactly what it was that happened, and try to stop it from happening.

Nobody had ever told her that she shouldn't try to mess with fate, but Nia was blessed with a very unique gift, and though she didn't exactly like most people, she wanted to use it to do some good. However, she was definitely being hasty, and standing outside of a shop at night, with workers rushing by her and stores closing around her, she continued standing there on the darkening street, her bag slung over her shoulder. Her English was struggling, and the few times she'd conversed with people had been an odd mix of French and English, and though Greek was her native tongue, it was much less likely for someone to understand that. Rusty, she figured that, if nothing else, being in London for the second time in her life would help her improve her skills.

The thought of finding some work to do was more than repulsive to her. She thought, perhaps, she could get a job as a nanny somewhere, teaching little English witches and wizards to speak different languages. No, that would never work, because then Nia wouldn't be able to leave whenever she felt like it. She wanted something that allowed her to be free; Something she didn't have to go to from 9 to 5 everyday. Why couldn't someone just pay her to do something she wanted to do? There was the freelance astronomy stuff she sometimes did. Nia would stay out all night and study the stars, the changes, the new ones, and she was well-acquainted with the heavens, enough for her to occasionally make a bit of money when she sent new stuff to one of the wizards she was working for. But that wouldn't sustain her too long, and she might soon have to move on to the countryside in order to keep on staying in England, which was something she didn't want to do. Magic did have it's benefits when you were homeless, though

Standing, slightly cold, in a long dress, Parthenia moved past witches and wizards without major purpose, but thinking it might be time to find somewhere to spend the night.

Why did this month have to be one of the worst? Theophilus Dayton was just finished doing an interview with a local art dealer near Knockturn Alley. Personally he did not mind much being so close to Knockturn Alley but that is where his vision resided. He did not want to see the gory details or even anything that reminded him of the vision. It was even harder to see the woman he loved because of the vision. As he glanced down the alley as he left the store, they were closing like many around, he could not help to get a deep gut feeling that made him feel sick. Theo instantly wanted to escape. He still never spoke to anybody what he saw. There was nobody he knew that would understand and Artie was usually the person who he spoke to when he felt upset about something but his vision was involving her. That woman still did not know of his gift.

Theo slipped on her finger-less gloves. They had little bones on them. If he had to wear gloves for the rest of his life he would make a statement with them. The reason why he was wearing gloves was so just in case he had to touch someone he would not have to worry about seeing a vision. He was not prepared. He had no clue what to do about this visions or anything really in mind. How would he be able to tell someone they were dying or let someone know they would be winning the lottery in the future without looking like a crazy person? Or what if he messed up the vision and something else happened? He would felt terrible for the person and then would let it get to him. People were his life.

As he turned onto Diagon Alley he watched all the people around him. Maybe it was time to get a drink. Theo was pretty much an alcoholic but he loved the taste of fire-whiskey. He shouldn't drink alone the way he was feeling. He actually should not drink at all. Hm.... As he walked and thought at the same time Theo was not paying attention to where he was going. His mind was buzzing with everything. He was thinking of the interview, Artie, and just what is going on. Theo instantly ran into a smaller blonde girl. He instantly caught the girl by holding her shoulders so she would not fall. She was defiantly not dressed for cold London. "Oh- sorry, love. I apologize! Are you okay?" He raised an eyebrow and realized he was still holding her and let go of her.

Parthenia was looking forward to a good night's sleep in a warm bed, and she walked slowly and dreamily down the cobblestones, wondering if she was going in the right direction of an inn. She was too busy thinking to look at the people around her, despite the strange situation that had brought her to London in the first place. She ought to be looking every man directly in his eyes, searching for the one who's time was running out. But she was careless, and she was tired, and she wasn't about to save the day on the first moment she had been there. Besides, in her vision, it was raining and dark, so she didn't care so much about finding him today. He could wait another day for her to come to the rescue.

She was finally starting to notice just how inappropriate a dress had been for today, and she stopped to fish a sweater from her backpack, standing just before an alleyway entrance, and though she was off to the side and away from most of the foot traffic, it wasn't enough to save her from some wizard running directly into her. "Oh!" She exclaimed, startled, looking up suddenly from the opening to her backpack. "Excusez-moi!" She blurted apologetically, and promptly slapped her hand to her forehead. "Shit." While she had forgotten to speak English rather than French, which she was most accustomed to speaking after seven years at Beauxbatons, she got the curse word just right.

"Sorry." She said, her accent thick, marking her as foreign as they come. Not even her French could hide the fact that she wasn't a native, and though just where she was from would be unrecognizable to some, she basked in her own vagueness. She finally looked up at the man who had walked into her, and noticing he was still holding onto her shoulders, she responded in a small, reserved tone. "I'm okay." As he dropped his hands, she continued looking up at him, waiting and wishing he would move on his way, but something told her that this wouldn't be the case. While Parthenia wasn't exactly the open, outgoing type, perhaps she could use this as an opportunity to be put in the correct direction of the inn.

"Eh." She said, her thought coming out quicker than she'd expected. Looking down at her open bag once again, she searched for the correct way to phrase her question. In English, this time. "What way do I use to get to the inn?" It sounded correct when it passed her lips, and she smiled slightly, proud of her own small accomplishment.

"French?" He raised an eyebrow. He couldn't help to smile. Thanks to his mother he knew Greek and French. He could hold a conversation to many people who knew the language but he noticed the girl was trying to speak English. Should he be nice and just speak French to her to help her out. She looked lost. Maybe she would not know the way if he told her. Theo wanted to show her. It would be nicer than pointing her in a different. In french he spoke, "Want me to show you the way?" He smiled at her gently. Hopefully she did not think he was a weirdo.

Waiting for her to answer he then continued in French once more, "I don't bite." He chuckled gently and then continued to walk hoping she was following him. The inn was not that far away thankfully. The girl looked tired and cold. As he looked at her once more, he asked her a question. "Are you hungry?" He smiled gently at her. "I'm pretty hungry, you can join before you go to the inn. If not I could always just show you where the inn is and then go get food... but it will be on me... free food." He chuckled gently. Hopefully she knew free food. He was just being nice. He went to many different countries and he loved the hospitality of many of the places. They took you in, fed you, and made sure that you have a safe place to be. He made many friends just from traveling and experiences many different things. He loved to pass that on to the people who were visiting London. If it made him seem like a creeper, then oh well. He was just being a nice guy.

He spoke French! What an immense relief. Though Parthenia usually didn't stick around strangers, it was a good feeling to know that he was willing to help her out. While normally Parthenia would insist that she could do it on her own, she looked up at the English man with a slight smile. In honesty, Parthenia couldn't read in English, so she would require quite a bit of help. She might as well use the one person who spoke her second best language in order to get where she needed to be. He didn't look like a bad guy, and she had her wand in the side of her top, held to her side with a small bit of adhering potion. All she'd have to do would be to give it a good tug and she would have him on his knees if he wanted to mess with her.

She breathed a laugh and threw the backpack back over her shoulder, leaving her sweater in there for now. "Oui." She said, speaking in French to him now. "Thank you." She still wasn't sure what his name was, but she was fairly certain that he would have trouble pronouncing her name. Most people didn't catch on right away, but if he spoke French, he was probably more worldly or travelled than most. She always had respect for someone who, like herself, spoke more than one language. She hadn't exactly thought about her hunger until now. It was getting closer to dinner time, and all she had eaten all day was a scone from a local bakery, and she hadn't actually left Diagon Alley to try to find somewhere to have a decent dinner. Most of her time was spent peering through windows to try to see what the shop was. She found a Quidditch supply shop, an Apothecary, a pet shop...

"Sure," She said, shrugging along as she spoke, in response to his offer to have dinner with her. It might be a little awkward, but Parthenia wanted to work on being more friendly around people who made her uncomfortable. Really, how bad could it be?

"Oh, no. That's okay." She insisted, waving her hands slightly. While she was dressed more for Greece than the cold temperatures of England, and wore a backpack, and sounded foreign, she hoped he didn't think she needed some sort of charity. In reality, she was going to spend part of her time stealing vegetables from people's gardens in the countryside to save money, but she wanted to keep her pride. Besides, she didn't want to owe anyone anything, and would insist on paying for herself. Even if he was only trying to be kind to her. She began following him in the direction he was going, and looked down at the ground out of habit.
