[solved] Magical Horses vs. Regular Horses
« on: May 28, 2014, 03:52:34 PM »
Okay, so I hope this isn't a dumb question or anything, but do we know, from canon or otherwise, what the differences between magical and non-magical horses are? All I really know is the ones from Beauxbatons could fly? Or that may even be only some of them... Anyway, I'm just trying to get a better grasp on the differences because I think my WIP's (Maddie's) pureblooded family line is going be Magical Horse Breeders/Trainers, so obviously it would be a good thing for me to know (especially since I'm currently working on the EFB for them. ^^) Thanks!

There are already a couple of Winged Horse families that you should connect to, because it would be realistic to not have so many.

Here this info is helpful for you to know what the differences is: CLICK!

Okay. I have already looked in the Employment & Name Directory. Are they on that list?

And thank you for the link! So are magical horses just winged horses then? I'm thinking her family may also have "regular horses" too.

There is the Lusk family if you are doing a character in the Great Britian area. If you want the BB area there is the Risinger family and the Kataxinos family.

Yes they are. It's the only difference between the two. They can also have regular horses, but if they are a magical family winged horses should be the majority of their stock.

Awesome! Thank you so much Juliet! (Maddie's a BB student.) ^^

Okay. Yeah. They'll have a small stock of non-magical horses then too.

Yes they are. It's the only difference between the two.

(aside from the fact that Abraxans are WAY bigger than regular horses and granians are exceptionally fast  ;))

Okay. Thanks Michaela. ^^

Does it really makes sense for a family line who resides in France to be connected to a family line who is from Switzerland though?

Could my girl's family (ie. her grandfather's family) have come from Switzerland (and be connected to one of the family's from Switzerland), and then started up there own stables in Viennimont?

Sorry I'm bouncing back between both of these threads. You can mark this one solved after this question is answered if you like.

Yes. You can easily explain how the couple met and then go on from there. There are many families who have for example, a Polish mother and Russian father.

Okay. I'm hoping I'm not confuding everyone. Maddie's parents are both French. I'm wondering now though if her grandfather may be Swiss (if I choose to connect him/them with a Swiss family line) and her grandmother French? It's getting to the point now where I feel like I need a solid/complete backstory for both Maddie's grandparents and her parents. O.o

It sounds like you need to figure it out yourself xD I have no idea what else to say because it's your backstory to work out, all I can do is suggest things. :)

Yes. I think it's gotten to that point! *nods*

Thanks everyone for all the input/advice you've given me! Sorry if I've been a pain in any way. My obsessiveness with minute details seems to be my downfall here. haha

Thanks Jul[/iet. ;] You can lock/mark solved both of my topics now.
