Eloise was content. Her slim fingers slowly stroked his hair, admiring the soft curls he had. Honestly? Whenever she tried to curl her hair, it was disastrous. Her hair was sort of thin and styling it wasn't easy. Her curls usually fell out around noon, leaving her blonde tresses looking a bit dishevelled. She smiled again and shrugged absently. "Call it even?" She joked as she wound a dark curl around her finger absently. She wasn't overly insecure and Dorian didn't need to extol her virtues like a Victorian poet. But if he wanted to write her a poem, that'd be pretty cool.

"Okay cool," she sighed with relief, visibly happier as she offered him a crooked grin. Him leaving would devastate her. Especially if he left on a bitter note. It was a stupid, meaningless fight. Her toes felt fine now, all snuggled up in her hiking socks and her koala print pyjamas. She enjoyed this a lot more than the fancy dinner she'd made reservations for. Goose bumps rose on the flesh of her arms as Dorian smoothed her hair back, her eyes closed at the kiss. He was so much taller than her and those soft, secretive touches made her feel very elfin and cute. In response, her fingers slid down the sides of his neck to his shoulders, her fingertips stroking his collarbones. It felt so good to be able to touch him like this. "You should stay more often," she added softly, knowing it was impossible. She worked three nights per week in the jazz club and she had school all day and he bar tended all night.

Chuckling, she kissed him again softly. The cup had made a small red mark on his skin and she frowned gently. Reaching out, she touched it with her finger tip. He was so clumsy but so adorably so.

Eloise almost dropped her tea cup. She leant down, twisting awkwardly to place her cup on the coffee table as Dorian cupped her neck and brought her further down to him. She was so glad they were spending time kissing, not arguing. She was dimly aware that her cup had fallen off the table with a thud but she continued to kiss him. Cups were replaceable. Dorian was not. She smiled against his lips, her heart swelling as he told her he loved her too. Perfect. She didn't need to be told too often but she felt like she maybe said it too much? She didn't want to suffocate him.

"Thanks," she called out to Dorian as he took the bags from her, flushing in pleasure at the kiss, offering Kevin a goofy grin. She knew he had a bit of a crush on her but she had no interest. Kevin was smart and kind but honestly? No one held a candle to her boyfriend. They shared an idle chat as Eloise held out the money and she always gave too much. What use did she have for Muggle money? She really only used it to pay for food. She didn't take the Metro because it scared her, she didn't often buy clothes and shoes because the little boutiques were so expensive. Closing the door, she happily skipped back, only to let out a squeak as she was pulled and landed on the sofa heavily.

On three, Eloise excitedly cracked her cookie, sending pale yellow crumbs all over her knees as she pulled out the slip of paper. ""Be patient. In time, even an egg will learn to walk"," she recited and frowned, looking up at Dorian. "I think my fortune's broken," she snorted, popping a broken bit of cookie into her mouth and chewing happily. She smiled at his fortune and then she turned bright pink. He was flirting and she enjoyed it. A lot. "Well they are magic," she offered, wondering if they could skip straight to dessert. Picking up a fluffy white cracker, she took a bite and then mumbled happily, pausing to pick up a vegetable spring roll that Kevin had thrown in before popping off the lids of the containers.

Grabbing her chopsticks, Eloise deftly began to eat her noodles. She'd become an expert at using the utensils. "Want some?" She asked, holding it out to Dorian, her cheeks still pink from his flirty remark and the prospect of having some alone time together. "I'll have to change my underwear before we get ice cream," she said conversationally. She'd bought some fancy, frilly lingerie a few days ago and it still sat wrapped in a tissue papered box under her bed. She hoped he liked it. "It's a surprise," she said with a wink. She was so bad at flirting. Eloise leant over him a little to grab a piece of sticky glazed orange chicken and nodded in approval. "Ummf. So good," she added after eating more noodles and doing her happy wiggle dance that only came out when she ate truly delicious food. Or scored a strike in bowling.

i'll be true, i'll be useful, i'll be cavalier.
