The winter wind whipped snowflakes into the air, and into the dark green eyes of Aksel Vindstrom. He squinted through them trying to find the bar his sister had told him about, the Wilted Rose or something like that. Alexa had given him quite detailed directions, but still, it was an unfamiliar city. Aksel hadn't seen his sister since her wedding the summer of his sixth year, and this trip was refreshing to him. Since graduation from Durmstrang, The Norwegian had gotten an apartment in Russia, and he didn't do much else. No matter the gusty winds in London, it was better than the nasty Russian winter Aksel was used to. However, the trip had already given Aksel a large dose of how bossy his eldest sister was, and it was just that that had him trekking through the snow to the bar that he knew was somewhere around the area.
Iron gates greeted him, and finally, he turned to enter the bar. It took the wizard a moment to recover from the coldness out side, and he slid his gloves off and shoved them into the pockets of his large, worn, brown leather overcoat. He also removes his winter hat and ran his large calloused hand through the thick dark hair atop his head, smoothing it out where the hat had made it go awry. When he finally had gathered himself, he took a look around the warm bar. It certainly wasn't a place that he would have chosen, the interior looked expensive and fancier than a normal bar that Aksel would encounter. He guess that it would likely be a little out of his price range, but he couldn't quite blame his sister for it-she had no idea that he was unemployed and borrowing money from their parents for his monthly rent. Nevertheless, it would do the trick, Aksel wasn't keen on the idea of facing the harsh snow again to find a bar more his pace.
Aksel's eyes flitted to the bar, where he finally made steps towards. He was pleased, not only were the baristas well-dressed, but they also both were very pretty. Aksel had found in his half a year of solitude, that girls took his mind off things. Of course, that wasn't necessarily a good thing, but Aksel figured that he had time to think about things anyway. After graduating, he had found that he really only had one real friend, and she was his cousin-she was also still in school. This left Aksel to a very lonely and brooding existence (though his nights were filled with lusting after girls in bars, and taking them home) which seemed to fit him, but even he would admit that he was starting to look for something with a little more substance. Here, however, was not the place-he knew that. This trip to visit his sister was supposed to help him, give him a change of scenery and maybe get him a little closer to figuring out what he wanted to do with his life now that his father's ship had vanished from his future.
Aksel got the attention of one of the girls behind the bar and ordered a vodka tonic in his thick Norwegian accent. As he waited for his drink, he scanned the large room. There were a small number of people there-but the weather was bad, and it looked like a good turn out to him. His green eyes landed on a burst of bright blonde hair. It was rather sad how quickly Aksel picked out the girls in a room, but he didnt notice it. The girl turned her head slightly and Aksel furrowed his thick brows as he looked more closely at her. Thankfull her back was toward him, so she didn't see how obviously he was staring at her. The way that she moved and the small glimpse of her profile that he had caught made him uneasy. This girl was strikingly familiar. Of course, he would never expect to see anyone other than his sister and brother-in-law who he knew in London. He was likely just making something out of nothing, or maybe subconsciously finding a reason to go talk to her. None the less, when he got his drink, he took it and started towards the girl.
If she wasn't a person he knew, he could easily just keep walking past her. So he peeked over his shoulder, down at her and was baffled by the features that he had seen. Leonie Kirschbaum. He knew exactly who she was, in fact, he had had quite a thing for her in his fifth year of school-but it had fizzled out. "Leonie?" He had said without really thinking, which-in retrospect- he might regret as he hadn't officially made of his mind about if he wanted to have a conversation with her about what they both had started to do after school. Maybe he would lie. Aksel faced her now, his features still pulled in a very confused expression. However, as he got over the surprise of seeing her (In London, of all places), he was aware that her beauty had not faded since their relationship in the fifth year, in fact it had increased. Aksel was increasingly grateful that he had a glass of alcohol in his hands.
