Another boring benefit, compliments of S.C.A.R.E. Fantastic. Rosaline had been forced to attend at the direction of her grandmother. Della had been hinting for months that Rose was past-due in finding a suitor, and she had, no doubt, been having her granddaughter attend these events in an attempt to introduce her to some eligible pureblood bachelor. At least they weren't in the business of outright arranging marriages, and cared at least a little for compatibility? She supposed that that was a blessing, of sorts.

Regardless, it was not as if she had really done any mingling with potential husbands. Instead, she had hung back with her glass of champagne and simply observed all of the other attendees. She was dressed in one of her cousin's more simplistic designs, with her hair and makeup done just-so. She couldn't help but wish that her cousin, Basil, could have been in attendance. He was always pleasant company to be had. They were so much alike that it was almost a shame that he was family, however distant.

Her eyes scanned the dance floor. All of the faces were familiar ones, though there were certainly some that she could have done without being around. Still, there were many that she would have to speak with. One of the familiar faces that she actually enjoyed conversation with was her second cousin, Basil's sister, Violet. While she did seem to be a bit 'free-spirited,' the Stringfellow girl was pleasant company. And her designs, like Erynn's, were absolutely to die for! Her cousin, Adrian, and his pretty new fiance were around somewhere. It was high time that someone had finally tamed him and began to mold him into the respectable pureblood that he had been born to be.

Unfortunately, however, it only made their dear grandmother focus on her even more fiercely. She had graduated near the top of her class, at Hogwarts, and now it was time for her to start breeding. Ugh. The very idea of it was enough to make her want to vomit all over the pristine marble floors of the ballroom that they were all gathered in. She wanted so much more than to simply be some heir's trophy wife. Hopefully, in this power struggle between herself and her grandmother, she would come out victorious. Though, realistically, she very much doubted it. The older woman was very stubborn, and thus far the only Bane woman that she had not been able to tame was Rosaline's own mother, Persephone. However, even she had been married once...
