Muggleborn registration

Would the child of a Muggleborn witch or wizard have come under question by Voldemort's Ministry and the Muggle Registration stuff, or was it just Muggleborns themselves?

What do you mean excataly? Before they got their letter or when they already know they are a witch/wizard? I want to make sure I understand your question.

The character was born to a Muggleborn mother and a Halfblood father. During Voldemort's reign of the Ministry Muggleborns had to register with the Registration Committee or go on the run, so I know his mother would have had to register, but I'm not sure what that would have caused. Would his dad have had consequences for being married to or bearing a child with her? Would the character have had to leave Hogwarts?

Just trying to hash out how that worked.

So the mother would be question but not the Father or child bc they are halfbloods. They all could go on the run to protect the mother like the Cattermoles did, or they could've been too late. Up to you on that part. :)

Just to add - if it makes sense for the character, the mother could go on the run/into hiding alone. Sam Dickinson's muggleborn mother spent the year in South Africa with his sister - Sam and his father lied and claimed that she'd run away because they were so horrified that she'd "deceived" them about stealing magic. Wouldn't work for everyone but it's another possibility...
