[Solved] Just some small general questions...

I was wondering if anyone could help me with any of these questions:

1. What is the title of your sandbox meant to be? Is there anything specific I have to put in?
2. When accounts get deleted, are all their posts deleted too? And what about archieved accounts?
3. So I have to use an image hosting site like PhotoBucket for my signature / avatar, or can I just put a photo from my documents?
4. If the answer to no.3 is documents, what type of file does the pic need to be? Is a png okay?

Feedback from both as minds and people in general would be appariated : )

Syd is right about #1! Mine, for instance, is the title of a song I like by Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. ^^

As for #2... an admin may need to correct me on this, but this is my understanding. Deleted characters will have their account deleted (i.e. you won't be able to search them or see a list of their posts), but the posts made by them in certain areas of the forum will remain where they are unless they are manually deleted by an admin. Archived characters have their character sheets moved to a separate part of the server (?) to save space, but they are still searchable and you can still see any posts they have made.

You can use either an image hosting site or a direct file upload for your avatar, but you will need to use an image hosting site for your signature. PNG is fine! As long as they meet the image height and width requirements, I believe any picture file (.jpg, .png, .gif, etc.) is okay to use. ^^

When we delete a character entirely, we have the option to delete all their posts or to leave them. If it's a really old character or one that has no IC posts visible, we often delete *everything* to free up space, but if its one that had recently active threads, we leave the posts. Hence you'll occasionally find comments from a name that can't be clicked on - that's a deleted or 'guest' account.

3) Yes, you need to host your images somewhere online for them to show up. PhotoBucket is great, and so is Imgur.

4) PNG is fine! That's what I normally use. :-)

Thanks Carys! I didn't really need to know, I was just curious because on some baords there were quotes from posts that weren't there.

Sorry to bother you again, but I was just wondering if a squib would require an EFB, and if children born in northern island would be eligible to attend Hogwarts (if they were half Irish)?

Second question first - students born anywhere in Ireland can attend Hogwarts, no worries there

And for the second question, as a squib would be descended from purebloods they would need an EFB. We don't currently have any played squibs (someone correct me if I've overlooked someone!) so the closest we have would be characters with one or more squib parents, and yes, they do have EFBs. So long as you didn't want them to be rich or influential though, you could make the family regular middle class and then leave the history section of the EFB blank.

Is this a hypothetical question or were you thinking of Tori having a squib parent?

I was planning on Tori's dad beig a squib, and her mum being half irish   So he would need a regular middle class EFB with no history section?

That's right, he can be from either a working class or middle class pureblood family and you wouldn't need to write a history. If you wanted the family to be upper middle class for some reason then you would need to write a history (so for a first character, unless you have a definite idea in mind I'd suggest regular middle class). And a half-Irish mother is absolutely fine
