"No, I won't settle for half. Half won't feed my family. Half won't clothe them. Half wouldn't even begin to amuse them."

With that he moved to walk from the room. Aeric had been to the countless meetings and heard all theories. But it all came down to the simplest point; what was best for his family. And they only deserved the best and would get nothing short of it. If these men who wanted stake in his business wanted to shortchange him, he would deal with them in the best possible way. He had other things to do with his day. From it's start this day would prove to be difficult. A quick glance to his watch he pulled the paper from his vest pocket to recheck the address. He had been grateful that his meeting and appointment had not been to far from one another.

He had been intrigued when she had told him about her project. After-all he was the kind of guy that enjoyed educational advancement. He would be willing to let her try out her potion on him, the scar near his eye he was willing to part with. It had been left from a curse during the battle. Though it reminded him of how lucky he was to be alive, it also reminded him of how dark the wold had been after he'd waken in the hospital room. To lose himself so suddenly had been earth-shattering but to get himself back had been life-changing. Aeric had learned then that life was too short to let opportunities pass by because one might be afraid of what lie ahead.  It was often the way, was it not? The way to understand why so dreams simply faded.

The Irishman was happy to lend a hand in the uplifting of another dream. He liked to know that someone out there was bettering themselves. Was trying to be different. Breaking the mold and simply enjoying all that life had to offer. If he had ever been that way was unclear, all he knew now was he saw the world differently. He appreciated life more now than he had before. Each second, each breath, laugh, moment with his son was held with a careful protectiveness. He knew what is was to lose everything and doing so again was never going to be a willing option for the man.

Before he knew he was at her doorstep, hand held out ready to knock. For a moment he paused allowing his finger to touch the scar that may no longer be there when he went home that night. He didn't need the scar to be reminded, did he? The sound of his knocking echoed around him as he look around. Maybe it would all pass by without any problems...maybe? He didn't want to think about what would happen if things went wrong. He was in good hands, or he liked to think so.
