leave good for great [levi]

If was kind of ridiculous that her muggleborn friends didn't think that wizards had to do their taxes too. What did they think the ministry ran on? Half larceny and half goodwill? Of course, Gianna supposed that wizards did have the option to owl their taxes in, which was a huge timesaver normally. And she said normally because that was how she'd always done it. But apparently today was not normal, since she received a letter from the ministry itself, telling her that she had to make her way to one of the scary offices (shut up, it totally was- the whole place was underground like some super villain's secret lair for merlin's sake!) and she practically shat her metaphorical pants.

Her first reaction, like any perfectly normal human being's, was 'Oh my god what did I do did I accidentally break the law? Is this a hearing?' Because it sounded entirely like a sneaky setup for a surprise hearing, probably for something she didn't do, either. Now that the ministry was going through some sort of reform, how was she to know if they were going to go completely ballistic and start rounding up the purebloods instead? This was not looking good for Gianna, not looking good at all. Immediately, she was scanning through a mental list of candidates who would know what to do in this situation, and not screw things up even more.

All things considered there was Levi, her boss and coworkers, her ex-boyfriend, her other ex-boyfriend, Levi, her siblings (not likely), Brita, Daisy? Like, she loved her roommate and totally considered Daisy as one of her close friends, but she definitely belonged in the 'screw things up even more' category. Actually, most of her friends probably belonged in that category, as with many of her cousins, although she was sure Ruari would at least help. Malachi worked for the ministry, but she was always under the impression that he worked for himself. And then there was also that whole 'broke up' factor, which really didn't work in her favour either.

Basically, she had to thank the stars above that she happened to know Levi.

Had she had the time to think it through properly, which evidently she didn't, she would've realised why running to him was maybe definitely not the best idea she ever had. Gianna had sort of been avoiding Levi, ever since she got unbelievably drunk - she was talking about total blackout here - at his place nearly two months ago. Alright, more than two months ago. So she's been avoiding him for a while. So she woke up in what she assumed was his flat in the morning, smelling a bit ripe but mostly disappointingly still properly clothed. So she panicked and her fight or flight instincts kicked in and she chose flight. And... well, it's just been an embarrassing slippery slope afterwards, wherein she didn't know how to reach out to him again.

Her brain however, chose to ignore all of that, and with a 'pop', Gia found herself stumbling up the steps that led to The Royal Crown. It was still closed, as it should be on a Tuesday morning, and the place was predictably empty. However, that didn't deter her because now she knew how to let herself in without making a damn mess of everything. "Levi?!" She whisper-yelled; easy on the door, and don't knock over the stack of glasses this time? Nothing. It seemed like she was totally alone for the time being. "Oh Merlin, please don't tell me you chose this day of all days to disappear. I got a letter from the ministry and what if I have to go to Azkaban for something I didn't even know I did?"

Gianna had begun to pace back and forth in the limited space to the front of the bar, muttering ominously to herself, and biting her nails in agitation before she stopped short. "What if it's something I did when I was drunk?" Her breath escaped her in a gasp of horrified realisation, and she sank into one of the wooden chairs that was so pristinely polished. What was she going to do?!
