Let's give it another go (Cab)

August in central France was always one of Ed's favorite times of year. The sun almost always shone bright, a cool breeze typically blew, and the chance of any inclimate weather was so low that Ed could count the times on one hand that he had decided to stay inside while visiting the national stadium complex. While Ed had been working on the preparations for the upcoming year end ball for the professional Quidditch circuit for the last few weeks, he had been working from his home in Paris until the season ended. Now that the season was over, Ed found himself in Provence making preparations for the occasion.

Even though he had been tasked with ensuring the preparations went well, Ed also had to see to his duties with his home club. That being the case (and since Michel managed both the Pixies and the national team), Edouard had sent an owl to his final two candidates for the last open slot on the roster, reserve beater. Of course, Ed had a special interest in who it was that was chosen as he would be spending a great deal of time training them for the Pixies. The first of the two he had his eye on had been able to make it to Paris before the end of the season and had a trial at the Pixies stadium. The second, one Cab Daley, had not been able to make it due to school, and required a later date for his trial.

Ed had set the date without realizing that he would be in Provence, but once the date had been set, Ed had to follow through. He had informed Cab that the location would be the national stadium in Provence. Ed had drills planned for the young man as well as an intensive physical examination and, should those two go well, he would be inviting him to remain in Provence for the year end celebration. If he was the choice for the club, it would be good for Cab to meet the players who had made their way down, and since it would only mean staying behind an extra two days, Ed couldn't see why there would be any issue there.

Heading down from his room in the dormitory section of the complex, Edouard made his way to the equipment lockers to grab his broom and head to the pitch. When he arrived, he checked his watch and saw that he was about twenty minutes early. Making his way into the stadium, Ed tossed one leg over his broom, pushed off and began a lap around the stadium. Ed had grown very fond of the stadium that he spent nearly half of the season at each year. When not involved with the Pixies, Ed spent a great deal of time training the beaters of the national team, ensuring their readiness for Cup matches, friendlies, and other tournaments that came up through the year. While Cab would never play for him here in the Stade de France, he could have a slot on the Pixies squad. That was, assuming things went well today.
