[Solved] Swapping Houses
« on: May 12, 2016, 03:49:16 PM »
So this is just in theory, i'm not planning on making another BB char any time soon although I have seen some models and have ideas and-, but I was wondering if it would be possible for a BB to swap houses?

So say they were sorted into bellefeuille when they first arrived, but they had changed over the years and when the hoggies came and were having their sorting ceremony into the BB houses they instinctively ran up (bc they wanted to know if they would still be a belle if they were sorted now, maybe they feel as though they don't fit in very well in their house or smth) and held the wand, which sorted them into ombrelune or smth. on MH, would this be allowed?

If that sentence doesn't make sense then I can rephrase it >.<

Just wondering ~~

I see what you mean, but I can't see how it would be allowed. We've seen per canon that some students do grow out of their houses or, as adults, simply don't fit (Wormtail and Snape being the most obvious examples). I also personally think that the hat/wand or whatever would "know' that the student had already been sorted and simply wouldn't do anything.

It's an interesting concept, but I can't see it working out tbh.

also, and this is just my musings about sortings in general, not just BB, but I always saw these things as assessing a person's full potential in a semi-omniscient kind of way. The hat tells Harry he would do well in Slytherin, as if he sees the potential for greatness and ambition and thirst to prove himself, so I always saw the decision being more than just based on current character traits.
