That would make sense as it was anniversary soon after I joined and it's been just over a year since I joined...

I went back and checked the old announcements and Anni was right around the middle of July last year too, so... ;] They also did a cryptic countdown thingy like this leading up to it as well. :]

I mean.. Founding Father kinda seals the deal on Anniversary, and when i look back, the announcement on Anni (specifically the AU thread) was made this time last year.
