"Edwards? Edwardsss," Danny called as he peeked into cabin after cabin aboard the Hogwarts Express. Finally! They were all out of Hogwarts, no longer confined to the mysterious dome any longer! And while the Hogwarts Express wasn't exactly freedom yet, just the fact that he was out of the dome made him that much happier. Besides they were leaving behind all the chaos right? It seemed like every year at Hogwarts there had to be some big epic battle and this year was no different. It was just wholly unexpected.
Danny had tasted a little bit of the battle, fiending off a giant spider on his way to get his sister Maisey. He would have loved to charge off into battle but now that Edmund wasn't with them anymore, he felt the weight of familial duty heavy upon his shoulders. He had battled the creatures that he needed to to get to his family and make sure they were all safe, but he hadn't taken unnecessary risks. Not when it was his job to protect them all.
That didn't stop him from telling everyone else that he had battled some epic battles though. Which is why he was looking for his best mate Jeremy. He had seen him board the train but after making sure Mark, Maisey, and Molly were all safely tucked into one of the cabins, Danny hadn't seen Jere since. Protector of his siblings? Sure he would take on that role everyday. But everything was calm now and he didn't feel the need to babysit. Besides, he was still too amped up -- from the battle or from the fact that they were free, Danny wasn't sure. He just couldn't sit still.
He flung open another cabin door, stopping short. "Oops! Didn't mean to burst in on you two. Carry on with the snog session," Danny said with a grin as he swung the door shut behind him. The next cabin, however, he was in luck. Apparently he and Jere were on the same brain wave though because as soon as he entered, Jeremy greeted him with the 'lets do something fun.'
"I'm all in, mate," Danny said with a nod. "We never got to do that bubble thing where we do a bajillion bubble charms. It would be fun to fill up a cabin and see which of the ickles can fight their way through the bubbles," Danny answered with his own crazy schemes. He saw an edge of something in Jeremy's eyes that wasn't quite familiar and Danny's urge to do something crazy ratcheted up a few notches, an urgency bubbling within him.
"I hear Penelope from Ravenclaw, you know the girl who'd be really fit if she didn't have that hook nose? Well I heard she snuck some of her dad's firewhiskey aboard." Danny waggled his brows. "We could probably convince her to share some with us if you want to that kind of distraction."
