[Contest/Lore] Wide World of Quidditch!

[div style="width:75%;position:relative;top:-24px;text-align:center;"]Ever had a great idea for a Quidditch team?
Now's your chance to add it to the Magical Hogwarts canon lore!

To finish filling out "leagues" for international and intra-country Quidditch teams, I've divided the remaining areas into regions that need a representative Quidditch team.  Any city can be chosen, and an appropriate mascot (either a regional magical creature, or something alliterative, or even better, both!).  The mascot can be in either the native language or in English (i.e. the "Heidelberg Harriers" [English] or the "Rostock Rochen" [native German - it means "stingrays"]).

**For now we're only focusing on Eurussia (not all of Eurasia), China, Japan, and Korea.**[/div]
Each driver may enter up to five team names in the contest. Use the following form and PM to @Cameryn White.
Deadline for these forms is Sunday, December 4th at 11:59 EST.
Polls will go up on Monday, December 5th for any locations where multiple mascots have been proposed.

Code: [Select]
Your Name: the driver who is submitting the idea
Country: name of the country
Region: if listed
Proposed City: name of the city
Proposed Mascot: name of the team
And here's why!: What makes your mascot a good choice for a Quidditch team in this area?
(also optionally, the native format for your team's name; colours; stadium; uniform; etc)

this is amazing <33

so just to clarify, the regions that are not crossed out still need teams? and the number in the [ ]s are the number of teams that region needs?
for example, someone could submit 2 team suggests for the netherlands, but only 1 for finland?

Correct! Mostly. :Þ

To clarify further, someone could submit 2 team suggests for the Netherlands, but it would be 1 for Amstelland (north) and 1 for Maasland ("south").

For everything except China, if there were more than 1 team slots available for the country I broke down the approximate region of the countries where they could be spaced out, by population and geographical distribution.
Because as we all know by now I am a HUGE nerd.

EDIT: I have updated the bracketed numbers to indicate what teams that country DOES have - i.e. Poland's population can support five teams but we only have two listed so it says [2/5] next to the country name.

I've got 27 entries so far, and they're all fantastic. Certainly hoping to see more before the end of the day on December 4th (this Sunday)!

A couple of other tidbits, which I've gleaned from questions from all you lovely people:
  • I have added this icon which means that submissions have been entered, but that doesn't mean you can't enter an idea too.

  • I have updated the bracketed numbers to indicate what teams that country DOES have - i.e. Poland's population can support five teams but we only have two listed so it says [2/5] next to the country name.

  • You can absolutely work together on this contest, and you can even submit a team name together so you'll both get the credit.
However, in that case it still counts against the maximum five entries for both of you, so beware!
As an alternative I've had two people who worked together for eight submissions, splitting them evenly between the two of them for credit.

Once again,
deadline for these forms is Sunday, December 4th at 11:59 EST.
Polls will go up on Monday, December 5th for any locations where multiple mascots have been proposed.

And yes, I've already got several!
