"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! It gives me great pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to this International All-Star Quidditch match!"[span style="display:none;"] @Henne Hänsch [/span]

The loud raucous cheer informed Rolanda Hooch - if she hadn't already taken a peek and seen for herself - that there were in fact quite a number of people for Jonathan Gardner to welcome to the Griffins Quidditch Pitch. The magically amplified voice of the Head of Magical Games and Sports told Rolanda that it was time to step out of the umpire's office and get ready to take the field. Fortunately she was just the referee, not one of the several national and international players actually seeking the limelight. So she was able to step out the door and simply wait against the wall underneath a story of bleachers, unnoticed by most due to their attention being drawn by the swooping broom-mounted players that were flying into the stadium from the top.

"Hailing from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia, members of the East Slavic League! Crossing the pond for this special occasion, members of the Iberian-Gallic League and the Germanic Quidditch League! And, players from teams you all know well, your own British & Irish League!"

Rolanda waited as Mr. Gardner went through first the reserve roster and then the two teams, the [span style="color:#708090; text-shadow:0 0 3px #f5f5f5;"]Eclipses[/span] and [span style="color:#f5f5f5; text-shadow:0 0 3px #c0c0c0, 0 0 5px #c0c0c0;"]Novas[/span] (named for it being an "All-Star" game). As their names were called, they landed on appropriate sides of the field and stood with their temporary teammates on the ground. Then, expected though not necessarily appreciated, he announced her name as well. She dutifully put on an award-winning smile, walked from the edge of the pitch to the 2-feet-wide circle in the middle where the Quidditch balls rested in the case, and waved to all of the fans. One thing among several that made such public embarassment tolerable was that there really were so many people here, players and coaches and trainers and fans alike, who had taken the time to either put together or attend this event and help raise money for her beloved Hogwarts.

"The ball is in your court now, Madam Hooch, so let the match begin!"

Giving Mr. Gardner a stiff mock salute, she turned to Captain Bellamy and hollered, "Eclipses, mount your brooms!" As his team of seven remounted their steeds, she did an about face and shouted to Co-Captain Rathbone, "Novas, mount your brooms!" She eyed both captains and teams a few times, adding, "Let's keep this nice and clean, because charity or not, I will have your head if I see any shenanigans!" Then she grabbed her broom in her right hand, kicked at the ball case, and out flew the Bludgers and the Snitch. Gardner's announcements behind her faded into the background as she got into the zone, leaning down with her left hand to pick up the Quaffle. "Here we go!" she shouted as she tossed it up into the air, and the game began!

Quinn Regan had spent the past week figuring out just what her strategy was going to be; obviously, she was going to catch the snitch, but she also needed to show off, even more so than usual. For charity, of course. Because everyone wanted the show. And she wasn’t surprised that the Falcons were the most represented team on the pitch. But again, it was for charity, so that fact didn’t matter. Much. She was a bit disappointed that all four Falcons weren’t on the same team, though that was probably on purpose. It just would have been nice to know how everyone played with each other, as there hadn’t exactly been an overabundance of team trainings for this match.

At least she and Oliver were on separate teams. That would make winning so much more enjoyable.

She spotted her parents and every single sibling in the stands after a moment of searching and she gave them an excited wave as she flew closely by them, hoping her brother Alex caught the wink she gave him. Quinn resumed her laps around the pitch, giving her usual wave a bit more enthusiasm than normal. She fell into a dive as she heard her name announced, landing gracefully on the grass. She dismounted her broom and swept it up onto her shoulder in one smooth move, using her free hand to do a bit more waving. She tuned out the rest of the wordy announcements; she had already been presented so it wasn’t really worth paying attention to anyway.

Quinn’s hand only returned to her side as the referee made her way out onto the pitch; she had never actually flown for Slytherin on Hogwarts, having been unfairly beaten out by that kid that bought his way on to the team, so at least Hooch ought to have no hard feelings towards her. She wiggled and stretched her fingers as she watched her walk towards the ball case, eager to get her hand around the golden snitch she knew was hidden inside. She and her team remounted their brooms, Quinn swinging her leg over her own in a fluid motion, her gaze locked on the ball case as she tried her damnedest to not roll her eyes at the referee’s words about a nice, clean game.

The snitch was out, up, over, and up again, as if it knew the perfect spot in the sky, the spot directly between Quinn and the sun. Damn, she squinted into the light before dropping her gaze to see if Milenova had the same issue, but her face didn’t give anything away.

Quinn was off the ground as soon as the quaffle was in the air. She rose up and up, getting above the other players fairly quickly, looking for that familiar glint of gold but coming up empty. Instead, she glanced down to see the action unfolding below her. The seeker was still figuring out which silhouette belonged with which chaser, but she was at least competent enough with her colors to know that it was an Eclipse player to grab the quaffle first.

She moved her gaze from the chasers below to do a quick scan around her for the beaters and bludgers and snuck in an even quicker glance towards the hoops. Not the ones guarded by her own keeper, but rather the other set guarded by Oliver. Even from her spot far across and far above the pitch, she was still thoroughly distracted by her the man in uniform. She rolled her eyes at the thought, immediately resuming her quest for the snitch, drifting slightly to the left and doing a little twirl through the air.

The laps around the pitch started as Quinn sought out her prize, though even if she spotted the snitch, just how charitable would it be to catch it two minutes into the match? That surely wouldn’t be too enjoyable for everyone. She just hoped that Milenova had the same idea. As she passed Wood’s hoops, she alternated between offering a hearty “Boo,” between cupped hands and wolf whistles, depending on who was around to hear.

It didn’t take long for a bludger to come flying towards her, though even if she was unsuccessful in her dodge it would probably only graze her left leg. Either Bellamy had terrible aim or Steenie was lobbing easy bludgers at her and she wasn’t sure which was the better option.

((dodge a bludger!))

Thank Dažbog for the beautiful weather, and thank Lada for whomever invented Translation Charms. Liliya had been informed, through the Ukrainian Ministry's Department of Magical Games, that the British Ministry's Department would be providing team uniforms that had the charms already in place so that all members of the team could communicate with each other. From all her time spent with Quinn, her English was improving, but it wasn't really that good yet.

Though the cheers at her name weren't as loud and raucous as those of the British and Irish team members, Liliya didn't mind. After all, this was not her native turf. It was still very exciting and gratifying to see that so many people appreciated their coming-together to support the British magic school, even if they weren't household names here like they were back in Slavic territory. As a bonus, the random draw had placed Liliya and Quinn on the same team. As a drawback, Liliya was the only ESL player on the Eclipses - Sofiya was opposite her on the Novas, and it would have been so much fun to play on the same team as her once again like they did back in Drakonya Krov years ago. Mariska was also on the Novas but Liliya didn't mind that so much; the Ryazan Seeker was the one she got along with most out of all the Re'ems, but they certainly weren't close.

On the flipside, the Eclipses still had the most multicultural variety on their team. Somehow they had ended up with van Dijk, a handsome Beater from Camargue, and Hänsch, a pleasantly robust woman from Kieler who was joining Liliya and the Magpies' charming young Finn McKenzie as Chaser. Rounding out their charity team were Sadik, Quinn's Keeper teammate, and Rathbone, the Griffins' Co-Captain and Beater, who Liliya could definitely see herself being good friends with. Roxanna, who was their Acting Captain for the charity match, reminded Liliya very much of herself, with maybe a little less class but a lot more immediate confidence.

Pani Hooch, the Hogwarts flying professor, ordered their team to get back onto their brooms, and Liliya eagerly did so, rising into the air at about 4 metres off the ground. By intent or accident, Captain Rathbone had placed Liliya at point, and regardless of what good friends Liliya was with Sofiya, the Eclipses were going to get that ball.

The Quaffle was up - and Liliya shot straight up with it instead of trying to fly horizontally into the flurry of Nova Chasers and Beaters, scoring some excited cheers from the huge crowd around them well before she had scored any points. She had to remember that, although she obviously wanted their team to win, this was a showcase more than an actual match, and she needed to pace herself. So she somewhat lazily began performing some aerial stunts despite heading straight for the goals. Surely an early score would make the game much more exciting, right?

It took only seconds before she was close enough to the goal hoops that she could try to score on Wood, assuming of course that he didn't save it or that one of the other Novas - a few of whom were hot on her trail - didn't intercept it. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. She locked her knees around her broom, performed a patented 720° reverse loop-de-loop with both hands firmly on the Quaffle, and then with the momentum of her second spin fired the Quaffle toward the lower hoop, furthest away from Wood. "Fire in the hole!" she called out as the Quaffle left her fingertips.

The reserve beater for Caladri du Camargue was granted the greatest opportunity of his career to play for the charity event held in Britian. Their team wanted to be a part of the event in order to gain more of a following, but had recently played the week before. Their main players were worn from the long high-point game that took 6 hours for the snitch to be caught. Diederik was asked by his captain to represent the French team, and he quickly jumped on the opportunity to say yes. No one else on the reserve sector of his team was asked besides him. He felt honored. Maybe if he played well at the charity game he'd earn a spot on the primary team. Travel arrangements were made, and the man asked his ballerina girlfriend if she wanted to accompany him to England. He knew Zara was busy with classes, but it was worth asking since he'd be visiting another country full of new things to explore. He'd even stay an extra day or two as a miniature vacation of sorts.

Diederik had been in school when the Hogwarts situation arose, and several English muggleborn refugee witches and wizards were placed at his school as a result for temporary stay and education. So in reality, he felt a bit connected to Hogwarts, knowing a couple of people who went there. To hear the devastation of the school basically imploding on itself made him rather sad. The young quidditch player sat in the locker room for a brief time with his team, the Eclipses, glad to have the charmed uniform because his English was a bit rusty. He wasn't the only one alone with this sort of predicament on his team.

Coming out and seeing the crowd was a surreal experience for him. The dutch couldn't help but give his usual authentic wide cheeky grin and double hand wave when his name was called by the announcer. Even though he didn't get a great deal of cheers as the majority of the people who were known well, he was still glad to be at such a helpful event. It was for charity, a good cause, for the children, and to the 19 year old, a test among the best to be the best. This was his starting chance, and it gave him excitement and energy. He was truly thrilled to be a part of this game it almost upset his stomach.

Before he knew it, the quaffle was released and the game had begun. The man ignored the chaos that ensued for the chasers, his focus was on those gargling metal balls and quickly headed for one that wandered. Leaning into his broom he chased down the bludger, looking for a target of the opposing team. One thing that his team liked about him was his down to earth attitude about the game. Swinging his arm back, with the bat in his hand, he did a bit of eyeballing before the bat hit bludger. A loud crack echoed and he could feel the vibrations of the inertia kickback as it made a quick beeline for the keeper, Oliver Wood. Charity Quidditch was harmless fun, but indeed he wanted the crowd to feel like it still had that proper oomph and that feeling in the stomach of anticipation and excitement.

Cloé liked doing charity work. She did appearances and dragged the rest of the team along to balls and galas. A skirmish match was easy to get the rest of the team behind, especially since they would be on their own home turf and needed to make a good showing, despite not all being able to participate. It would hardly do to have the whole team on the field, so they had drawn lots to see who got to play. In the end it was Cloé and Harlem on one team and Roxy on the other. As fun as it would have been to have all three Griffins on the same team, she figured it wouldn't really be fair. And while she missed her brother on the field, and did César ever throw a fit at being left out when she was allowed on, Cloé was glad for the opportunity to show off alone.

The crowd was big and boisterous just as the Italian witch liked them. She waved as she came out onto the field, smiling brightly. She blew a kiss at Roxy and wiggled her fingers in greeting. She was definitely getting a bludger sent her way for that later but it was worth it. She scanned the other players, noting the second Beater and fellow Chasers. She paid little attention to the Seekers, knowing they would be off flying and not trying to touch her Quaffle or knock her off the broom. It seemed like the seconds were eternal as she waited to launch into the air and chase her prize. Then the signal and the rush as the game began.

But damn, Wolanski was good. Cloé was impressed. She smiled broadly as she watcher her opponent head towards the goal. This would be fun. Despite the easy-going nature of the match, Cloé was not one to let a score go through that easily. She shot above Wolanski, flying parallel about five feet higher, hoping to avoid the other woman's detection. As the quaffle flew through the air, Cloé dove for it. If she missed, well then maybe Wood could catch it. If she nabbed it, she intended to take it to the opposite set of hoops and score.

Wolanski claimed the ball for the Eclipses while Regan began circling the pitch. Van Dijk tracked down a Bludger and hit it toward Novas Keeper Wood just as Wolanski shot the ball dead-on toward Wood's goal posts. Regan dodged out of the way of the bludger, Wood was hit and knocked aside before he could react, and the Quaffle went through the lower hoop! The huge scoreboard that Mr. Gardner had installed for the occasion flashed to indicate the Eclipses score; meanwhile Novas Chaser Cardozo, who had tried to dive in to intercept the Quaffle at the last second, recovered it behind the goalposts and flew back around toward the centre of the pitch. Now the Novas were headed down the field!

Henriette Hensch had seen the opportunity to take her first trip to England since her childhood when she had caught wind of a call for players for an international scrimmage some weeks before. She had only been playing for the Kieler Sprotten for one season, it was true, but she was confident that she had made a name for herself among the German fans. She was one of the youngest players in the league, among that elite group that was recruited directly out of school. The fact that Kiel's team was sitting close to the bottom of the league, as per usual, meant Henne had been taking every opportunity to make her presence noticed in other ways: flirting with other players, allowing herself to be spotted in public often, and never letting her guard down for a second. This trip away from her home country would be just another chance to increase her publicity and work her way up through the ranks.

Playing well in this match would probably be most difficult for the chasers, who had been given very little opportunity to prepare and work on their teamwork before the actual match. They obviously weren't going to be able to perform their best after only a few hours of rehearsing, and as they kicked off from the ground, it was clear already to Henne that her makeshift teammates were not as aware of her movements as her usual ones could be. Lilliya grabbed the quaffle quickly but then darted right up the pitch without even considering a pass. It was a risky shot, being a bit far from the hoops, and Henne felt sure that their chances would have been much better if Lilliya had gone for the assist. However, she couldn't be put out too long -- the Keeper was distracted by a bludger and the Quaffle soared easily through the hoop, uncontested. Excellent.

Before she could shoot behind and catch the ball, however, Cardazo had taken possession. Henne remembered her from Beauxbatons, though they had been several years apart. Their common alma mater was no reason for mercy, however, and Henne quickly shot after the other chaser, determined to take the Quaffle back. She would really have loved to take the next shot, but she was nowhere close to being in range and a chaser from the other team was already positioning herself to receive a pass from Cloé. Henne shot up from below, where she hoped she had gone unnoticed, and reached out to knock the quaffle out from under the other player's arm and into her own. She could see one of her own teammates ahead and was already adjusting her angle to quickly pass the ball back toward their own goal hoops, if she could take Cloé by surprise and grab it.

Finn McKenzie had no idea what he’d done to deserve all of this. All he knew was that his life was pretty damn amazing at the moment. Things with Ray were great, Freya would soon be out of school and join him in the real world, he was playing regularly for the Magpies and now he’d even been invited to a charity match as an all-star. How amazing was that? It was hard not to let it get to his head, especially after he’d seen who else would be playing. It was a bit disappointing that Oliver Wood would be on the other team but on the other hand it would also be quite entertaining to score while looking right at the former Gryffindor’s face. And besides, it was just a charity game. One he really wanted to win, though.

The game began and luck seemed to be on their side. Liliya Wolanski caught the Quaffle and sped towards the hoops, a trail of Novas behind her. Confident that she would get to her destination, Finn followed, keeping his eyes on the opponents as well as on the Quaffle. Ready to intercept should she need it, he watched in awe as she performed a perfect 720° reverse loop-de-loop and he could hide a grin when the Quaffle went through. Sure, Wood might have caught it but unfortunately for him, the Nova’s beaters didn’t seem to be fully awake yet.

There was no time to relax, though. The match continued and there was no way he would let Cardozo get to their side of the pitch. At least not with the Quaffle in her hands. He followed her, thinking about the best way to get the red leather ball and decided to wait until she would pass it to one of her team mates. However, the young German player on his team had other plans. Her move was quite daring but maybe it would pay off. He positioned himself between the pair and the closest other Nova chaser, his hazel eyes focused on the Quaffle. If Hänsch managed to get it, he’d be there to catch it and if not… Well, then he’d be ready to intercept it and speed back towards Wood.

((I hope I'm doing this right. Intercept the Quaffle  - or catch it, depending on Henne's results.))

((forgot to include a dice roll in the first post, so completely reposting - sorry!))

She'd done it! It wasn't just her, of course, as van Dijk's Bludger hit had guaranteed Wood wouldn't be able to stop the Quaffle, but even so! Ten points to the Eclipses!

Not that the game was even remotely over. Whether the other players on both her own team and the opposition had let her zoom off like a rocket on purpose, or because she had just taken them by surprise, Liliya knew she wasn't the star of this show and to be honest she didn't really want to be. She'd made her mark on the match with the quick grab-and-goal, and now she was prepared to be a supporting cast member to the rest of the All-Stars out on the pitch. Cardozo had grabbed the Quaffle and was headed back toward Sadik, the Eclipses' Keeper. With a quick apologetic look at Wood - who despite being an opponent was a special friend of Quinn's, though her Irish friend had been intentionally vague - she zoomed back around after Cardozo.

It didn't look like her help was needed too much; Hänsch and McKenzie were already going after the ball, and she was sure at least one of them would be able to wrest it from Cardozo's grip. Or at least she hoped. McKenzie was, by all accounts, a stellar player though currently on the reserve team for the Magpies. Hänsch... well, according to the WNN, the Sprotten were the worst team in the Germanic League. But Liliya couldn't and wouldn't judge a single player by the overall performance of her teammates. For all she knew, Hänsch was an amazing goal scorer, and it was just their Seeker who sucked. Speaking of. Liliya glanced up at Quinn, who was still circling looking for the Snitch, occasionally passing Milenova. The Afro-Ukrainian sent up a quick prayer that it would be Quinn who eventually got it. It may be a charity game, but she still wanted to win.

Glancing back at the action, Liliya realised she'd better catch up after all - Novas Chasers were closing in to protect Cardozo. Liliya shot underneath her teammates and prepared to execute a tight 90 degree turn that would put her in the path of the nearest Chaser. She wouldn't actually run into him/her, since that would be a blatching foul... but she wouldn't mind causing the foul to be called on someone else.

Harlan relished in the beautifully familiar sensation of stepping that first foot on the pitch. Although the crowd's roar increased with every name that was called over the loud speaker, a long list of absolute legends, he could only hear the sound of his heart rate increasing and blood coursing through his veins. Harlan shook out his limbs that were now hot and ready for action. He and Cloé had the honour of representing their team on their home field, and he had no intention of letting their fans down, even if had been organised as a friendly charity match. So much as he tried, friendly was not in Harlan Bellamy's wheelhouse.

From the moment he kicked off from the ground, the game escalated quickly. He expected no less, though, given the calibre of athletes that were now sizing each other up, eager to flex their skills for the teeming fans that had left no seat unoccupied. Due to a complete lack of practice as a team on the Novas' part, the Eclipses scored an easy goal. Harlan let out a string of exasperated curse words, zooming to catch the bludger that had cost his team the early loss. He channelled his notorious aggression in an attempt to fix what had gone wrong.

With Cloé now soaring toward the opposite side of the pitch, Harlan did the same, ready to knock the head off of anyone that tried to get in her way. The two of them were luck to have hundreds of games and endless hours of practice to fine tune their chemistry and it was not hard to recognise it, even now, with a new team. Silvery eyes, hawk like in their precision, zeroed in on Henne Hänsch, who had tried to sneak from below the line of the game to snatch the quaffle from Cardozo's arms. Harlan almost laughed off the attempt. She had certainly picked the wrong Nova to mess with. He cracked the bludger right in her direction as soon as he was close enough, following through the hit with his bat with practiced precision. Hopefully he could make contact with the woman, freeing up his team to continue on to the rings.

Mariska never turned down the chance to show off. Yes, the purpose of the match was to raise money for Hogwarts, but the Re'ems seeker hadn't actually attended Hogwarts, and didn't really have any emotional ties to the school so she cared less about this aspect of the match than she probably should have.

But that didn't mean that she would play any less spectacularly than she normally did, and she did have to say that she had been playing quite spectacularly this season. Mariska wanted to win, but she also wanted to provide the audience with a show, so hopefully that's what they would get. The hardest part would be beating Regan to the snitch. The Falcons seeker was pretty good, but Mariska was cocky and plenty confident in her own skills, so she was pretty much positive that she would be the one with the golden ball at the end.

Immediately after kicking off, Mariska rose and began circling the field, searching for any hint of gold - though she didn't want to catch it yet. What kind of game would that be? A sucky one, that's what kind. If the snitch was caught so early Mariska wouldn't have  even wanted to watch herself play. No, her main reason for keeping an eye out for the stitch was to keep her mind off the rest of the game. An extremely competitive person, Mariska had learned early on that it was much better for her sanity to ignore her the score until the game was over. Fewer fouls and less shouting happened this way. And besides, if she already knew where her prize was, she could grab it whenever she wanted.

Unfortunately for Mariska, the snitch was being quite elusive, and the bright summer sun was definitely not helping. The bludgers however, were not nearly as sneaky. Mariska heard the the bludger before she saw it, coming at her left. Well it certainly wouldn't be good to be knocked out so early into the game, so naturally she tried to avoid it is the most fabulous way possible.

((Dodge a bludger!))

Hänsch went to try and steal the Quaffle from Cardozo, but botched her reach upon seeing a Bludger aimed by Bellamy - however Bellamy's aim was off. The Bludger overshot Hänsch and headed straight for Milenova, but the Russian Seeker was skilled enough to easily dodge it. Fortunately for Hänsch's team, the ensuing confusion was distraction enough for McKenzie to go for the Quaffle himself. He stole it out of Cardozo's arm and turned around to take the Quaffle back down toward the opposite end. Although Wolanski moved to block anyone from interfering with the steal, she underestimated her speed and failed to assist. Still, the Quaffle was back in Eclipse hands!

Sofiya found herself disappointed with the fact she wasn't on her friend Liliya's team, but instead opposing her. Why was this? Well for starters, Sofiya remembered the many games they played together during school, passing to each other to get around players. Since school the two went to their own separate teams. It would of been nice to be with Liliya again. Instead they were opponents to this charity game and Sofiya found herself feeling at odds with it all. Being an opponent to her friend? She supposed it would work out nicely.

The witch had mounted her broom at the start of the game, excited to be a part of it. Once the game kicked off, things went rather south for her team, and she felt in her head she wasn't entirely in it. The Eclipse's scored a goal and continued to have possession of the quaffle. It frustrated the quidditch player that her team seemed to be a little distant and not working together. Hopefully they'd get on board soon. Sofiya whizzed by Liliya giving her a playful but narrowed eyes as she went after the current chaser who had possession of the quaffle... some cute english young player. Doing a brief spiral as she tucked herself deeped into her broom she continued along the path she stared at.

She closed in on the Eclipse chaser and went for the ball, reaching for it where it was positioned in the hopes she could knock it from his possession. The only thing she hoped was that another one of her teams chasers would assist.

Cloé let loose a few choice words in Italian and Portuguese as the quaffle was taken from her. She executed a hairpin turn, chasing down the Eclipse player who'd taken her prize. She caught a glimpse of the wide and wild swing as Harlan sent a bludger flying. He narrowly missed hitting their own seeker. The chaser smirked. She was going to give him hell for that mistake later.

She refocused on her target, finding that her teammate, Mironova, was already on him. While Cloé felt good when she scored, she was not as much of a glory hound as some other players. The Italian witch was more than happy to give an assist and let her companion take the quaffle to the goal if they were lucky enough to snatch it back. With a burst of speed, she closed in on McKenzie opposite to Mironova. She stuck to the other team's chaser like glue, limiting his maneuverability and distracting him.

((Assist Chaser Mironova's attempt to grab the Quaffle))

Henne was zooming up towards Cardazo, flying at full-speed despite the quickly-closing distance between them. She was completely confident that she would be able to pop the Quaffle out from her unsuspecting arm without risking a crash. Her arm was only a foot away when a whooshing sound to her right distracted her. Her eyes found the source of the noise just in time to do a roll in midair, allowing her to avoid the bludger that was hurtling toward her but meaning that she lost the element of surprise. Cursing, Henne tried to reorient herself to the other players and resist the urge to call a few choice curse words at the guilty beater as he flew past.

The good news was that the bludger had caused Cardazo to lose her focus as well, and the third chaser for the Eclipses had managed to snatch it up somehow in all the confusion. Not wanting to waste a minute, Henne turned abruptly and flew after McKenzie, not nearly close enough to receive a pass but determined not to miss out on the action again. The fact that this game was purely recreational, intended only to raise funds and entertain, had completely blown out of the chaser's mind. She was not going to allow her one chance at getting recognition in a new country to go to waste, not when she remembered how miserably the Sprotten had been playing all season.

Players were closing in around McKenzie, attempting to limit his movement and knock the red ball back out of his hands. Henne flattened herself on her broom, urging it to catch up so that she could play her part. She shot toward them, hoping she could get between Sofiya and Finn and force her to change her path and leave an opening for Finn to move forward and score.
