"I must be dreaming," Thorson thought as soon as he took his first steps toward the Diagon Alley, leaving behind another place he had found equally wonderful, the Leaky Cauldron.
Thorson was a big fan of books, and that sight, full of smiling people hurrying passing by, in those clothes that were still somewhat odd to him reminded him of a book by Charles Dickens he had read a few months ago. And what wonderful clothes they wore! It was as if Thorson had suddenly moved into that game his parents loved so much (and speaking of Dragons - the name of the game was Dungeons and Dragons - only in those first few minutes officially in the wizarding world Thorson had already identified countless references to these fantastic creatures).
His parents were still inside the pub chatting with the special messenger who had been sent to explain everything about the new life that was presented to Thorson. They had gone to the wizard's bank, whose name Thorson did not remember, and after they decided to return to the Leaky Caldron to talk a little more. Some details Thorson did not quite understand yet, as the money issue, which was quite different from what he was accustomed to.
And now he was standing there, holding in his hands a list of school materials he had to buy for the beginning of the school year, and in his pocket all those strange coins that the Hogwarts messenger had guaranteed was enough to pay for everything. Thorson thought for a moment how his parents were cool and to some degree unconcerned. In addition to happily and non-traumatically accepting the fact that their son was a wizard (the first in the entire family history), they gave him complete freedom to search for his school supplies by himself. His parents were very nice, and Thorson knew that very well.
With all these thoughts, he began to walk down that narrow street marveling at everything and everyone.
Many families were there, and many students, as Thorson deduced, were also behind their respective materials.
Thorson looked at them with admiration. Older students! (Well, there were many who looked as young as he, but on the contrary, they did not look stupid).
Before he could get into the first store he definitely wanted to meet - The Florean Fortescue's - a group of teenagers were running, screaming and laughing. Playing with some object that Thorson did not identify.
Suddenly there was a noise behind him, and when Thorson turned to see what it was, he was struck by something. Something creeps. There was no pain, no discomfort.
Only when she opened her eyes did she realize that her clothes had been struck by some sort of product-certainly something magical-and now all his clothes, ordinary robes of Muggles, had garish variations of pink and violet, sometimes shifting to a good green weird.
The same teens who were playing now were laughing and pointing at him. But Thorson could not tell if they were responsible for this joke. Probably not.
"Okay," thought Thorson. "For this I did not expect"
"And now, what do I do with it?"
